I think in this issue Fraction played really well with some of the defining traits of Tim's: his overly analitical brain, which leads to overthinking and worrying, how grounded he is which explains his reactions and also how trustworthy he is.

Oct 08, 2025With Batman #2, this series is maintaining the level of quality established in last month's premiere issue. If Fraction and Jimenez can keep this up, this run of Batman could easily become known as one of the all-time definitive Batman runs. Read Full Review

Graphic Policy - Logan Dalton
Oct 05, 2025The fight sequences are full of piss and vinegar, and I love how Matt Fraction writes Batman and Tim Drake's relationship like a parent and an adult child while the heat continues to come down on them in the ongoing plotline. Read Full Review

Batman-News - Jackson Luken
Oct 01, 2025Batman #2 is a treat for Tim Drake fans who have had scant reason to celebrate in recent years. The (former?) boy wonder takes the lead by confronting the villains and even rescuing Batman himself. The writing can at times make him come off as more inexperienced than one would expect from someone with his tenure, but the fast paced action really gives him a chance to shine. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez
Oct 02, 2025Batman #2 works well to continue to establish the way Matt Fraction is following up on what his predecessors established. Fraction creates compelling voices for Bruce Wayne, Tim Drake, and Vandal Savage that adds to how Gotham City is changing. Having Jorge Jimenez around helps to keep that sense of progression from recent storylines. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Tyler Davis
Oct 01, 2025Batman #2takes all the promise of the first issue and makes good on it, delivering an issue that is simultaneously small in its character focus and grand in its setup of the run's larger goals. That being said, the ongoing conflict it establishes is one we've gotten off and on over the last few years that the excellence of Fraction's scripting pales in comparison to a worryingly stale plot. KPB Comics - Phillip Creary
Oct 01, 2025Batman #2 is a genuine mixed bag. The art by Jorge Jimenez is absolutely killer and worth the price of admission. However, the plot is full of strange, non-sequitur scenes, and the dialogue for the main character just doesn't make sense. It's a comic that looks amazing, but leaves you scratching your head, hoping that the next issue brings the story and the Caped Crusader back to earth. Read Full Review

Oct 01, 2025Batman #2 is a visual feast stapled to a wild ride where logic buckles under spectacle. Fraction and Jimenez deliver fireworks, but next time, someone should keep an eye on the script's steering wheel. Preferably not in broad daylight. Read Full Review
