Rainbow Rowell knows these characters and writes them so well it almost brings me to tears. It’s heartbreaking that this mini isn’t selling well enough to give the Runaways another crack at life in a longer series. This is magnificent stuff for fans of these characters.

This got me thinking, hm, virus made Logan's adamantium skeleton get bigger along with the rest of his body, what if that didn't work and he was just a giant angry sack of flesh with metal bones stuck way deep inside? Or maybe the virus had Pym particles in it so everything got bigger. Does that mean Hank Pym could use Pym particles to target just Logan's skeleton and turn him into a man-sized angry sack of flesh with tiny metal bones stuck way deep inside?

What would these Logans be called? Could they support one or two solo books? Would his healing factor eject the bones, or grow a tinier extra Logan in there? Be neat if he could open his mouth real wide and there'd be a tiny Wolverine looking out like some weird mutant xenomorph poking people with his tiny claws and going "Bub!" He could call it Bub. The Adventures of Fleshverine and Bub. He could team up with that glorpy clone of Miles. It would say "Spider-Man/Wolverine*" on the cover for sales purposes but with a footnote saying "* actually Glorpy/Fleshverine & Bub" as a joke. Does Deadpool have a weird fleshy blob clone? Oh, Glob Herman would be a shoo-in for that story, could you just imagine? They could fight that guy from the Headmen, Jerry whatever. Did they ever give that guy a real super-villain name? I think it's still 'Shrunken Bones' which is dumb.

In conclusion, I just flipped through it but it wasted a LOT of potential.

Eh, this series is fine, but is it me or do the Nerd Initiative reviews for the first two issues look like they were AI generated?

This book has VERY loud echoes of Scott McCloud's "Destroy" from 1986, so what was inside wasn't a surprise.

What was a surprise was the art by McGuinness/Farmer. The Thing looked like the Thing (which doesn't happen nearly as much as it should elsewhere). [Note: one exception is the last page where he's WAY larger than he should be).

As for the story, Ben fights robots of his friends and foes. Nothing we haven't seen before - and done SO much better in Fantastic Four #100.

And since when was Impy smart enough to make a robot, let alone one that could pull the moon out of orbit?

North writes Ben better here than in the FF series, but it's still a lame story and worse explanation for why it all happened.

Epilogue: And they were never seen again, except for the ones briefly appearing to get killed by the big bad at the start of a future event.

I appreciate that Ayodele is treading new ground with Storm, concocting a story arc of truly cosmic proportions. However, sometimes (especially with an artist less capable than series regular Lucas Werneck) I'm having trouble figuring out WTF is even happening.
Why is Storm becoming a real god? Why are Maggot and Eden not dead? One was cut in half and the other beheaded! Why is Gateway speaking? Why does Hadad want to destroy everything? Why now? And what the hell are Galactus and Silver Surfer doing in this book?

I'm sorry, I really like the direction of the book, but I can't give this issue a good rating. Both the writing and art are just not clear enough, leaving too much connecting the dots to the reader's imagination.

Gwen's buried skeleton STILL having that damned headband on is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've seen in a comic in a while.

Reminds me of Spidey getting brutally beaten in a desperate, overmatched fight against Morlun, which reminded me of Spidey getting brutally beaten in a desperate, overmatched fight against the Juggernaut way back in the day. And while Tombstone's not in the same league, that last fight had Spidey getting brutally beaten a lot too.

I haven't been a fan of Humphries' work, but this was fun and I like the new baddies.
