I thoroughly enjoyed this issue. I'm not usually a fan of the magic side of Marvel. Don't care about Dr. Strange or any of that stuff. I somewhat enjoyed GODS, but more for its potential than what it actually was. I'm not a big fan of Doom either, but I appreciated the character building this issue did with him. The dialogue was fantastic, the art was solid and the story was interesting. I emore
ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM! Using a combination of science and magic, Doctor Doom has taken over the world, which means Wyn - sole Avatar of The-Powers-That-Be (think: Magic God) - has an interest in how this happened AND how to stop it. His sworn apprentice, Mia DiMaria - a college-aged woman disillusioned with most magic, some science and definitely AL...
TBH, it was brave of North to pick up what could be considered a poisoned chalice - a project that was built up with months of hype only to fall flat and get swept under the rug. Seeing him offer a bit of cheeky meta-critique through Mia's impatience with Wyn is somewhat rewarding (Wyn does get gradually less sympathetic through the course of G.O.D.S. #1-8, and the final issue spotlighting him doemore

It's ok. Definitely feels like there's not much direction here and it's just kooky for the sake of being kooky.
WORLD WITHOUT A GWENPOOL! The funeral of Gwendolyn Poole. Two graves. Two bodies. Two restless souls. Peter Parker finds himself trapped in the past as Kate Bishop faces a future without her friend. The new Gwenpool's world takes a dark turn...toward vengeance!

Emma must now prove her innocence or suffer the wrath of some of the most ruthless mutants around. But the list of suspects is long, and the clock is ticking…
Good story and writing that's held back a bit by really bad art. The story isn't entirely original but it's well done and not something that's been overdone, so I'm enjoying it.
Henry and Nihlas face off! Will Nihlas and the conditioners be able to free Henry from the mind-worms' control?!Meanwhile in the World Beneath: Quorum is called to order to get to the bottom of who is covering up the killings in Montana! The hunters become the hunted in this spine-tingling spectacular third chapter of the freshest fantasy of the yea...
My only complaint is that I have to wait for the rest of the story. I love these Battle Royale-style stories, even better when the participants have themes (like this issue's Nurse Pete). Some manga/anime I like in this genre are Killing Bites (animal themes) and Juni Taisen (surface level zodiac themes). There's more, but those are two of the top of my head. Anyway, loving this book so far.
The blood gets pumping when death is administered to the hospital, and two of the game’s deadliest killers meet-cute at the concert hall. The horror event of the year continues as series creators JAMES TYNION IV (THE DEPARTMENT OF TRUTH) and MICHAEL WALSH (UNIVERSAL MONSTERS: FRANKENSTEIN) are joined by Eisner Award-winning writer PORNSAK PICHETS...
The art is nice but the writing is kinda meh so far. I know Tim Seeley can do better, I love Local Man. I like the plot and setting and all, but the biggest problem is every time the commander opens his mouth it's just cringy and annoying. The stereotype is lazy, bad writing and it takes away from my enjoyment of the book. Not enough to make me hate it, or even rate it low, but it would definimore
THE KAI-SEI ERA, IDW’S NEW GODZILLA UNIVERSE, STARTS HERE! In 1954, experimentation with a mysterious energy source known as Kai-Sei awakened Godzilla and a host of immortal kaiju. In the years that followed, humanity has been pummeled by near-constant monster attacks. While Japan has begun to treat the kaiju like natural disasters, understanding...
What Diana seeks inside the maze seems to elude her at every turn. And asthings unravel around her, she finds herself questioning everything, evenher mission. Meanwhile, in Gateway City, an old obligation has raised itshead…violently!
I'm thoroughly enjoying this series, even if sometimes I don't know wtf is going on. The first part was good, especially the banter about omegas. I know don't what that ending was about, but I'll looking forward to finding out. It seems they're making this Storm series and the Phoenix series kind of parallel each other, giving them both high-stakes cosmic adventures, but Phoenix is more in her more
"THUNDER WAR" Begins! It's a full-circle moment. The F.B.I. finally discover the mutant child from the OKLAHOMA INCIDENT (from ISSUE #1) and the safe house STORM sheltered the child in. The F.B.I. will not stop until they take in this mutant child, as the kid's unmatched nuclear-radiation powers make them a threat to humanity. STORM must protect th...
Another great issue for this series. The plot twist was extremely obvious, but it was all well executed. Feels and looks like you're reading a Don Bluth comic but for adults, and I loved Don Bluth movies as a kid.
Love is in the air at Pet City. Gigi has Lucky and Elsie has someone now too! But just who exactly is her secret lover and what does it mean for the rest of the cats? Meanwhile Lord quickly learns that this new home comes with new rules and he's never been good with those!
Who will the New Gods side with? Will they ally with the vampires and heroesagainst Darkseid? Or will they decide that all vampires are a scourge to existence?Their decision will set the stage for an explosive conclusion that will determine thefate of the planet!
Beautiful art and great action. It seemed to go in circles a bit, especially when repeating the title of the book a number of times in the dialogue. It was still a lot of fun and mostly introduced the characters and world well enough for a first issue. Can't wait to see where this goes.
MINISERIES PREMIERE The pulse-pounding comic event of the summer aims for your jugular, courtesy of master artist JAE LEE (Inhumans, SEVEN SONS) and GERRY DUGGAN (X-Men, FALLING IN LOVE ON THE PATH TO HELL). THIS ENDS TONIGHT is the kick-off of three interconnected tales of bloody revenge in Las Vegas. The debut issue stars two sisters hunted by as...
I'm liking this a lot more than I thought I would. The writing and art are top tier. This feels like a Lobo book in all the best ways.
Who would dare betray Battle Beast?
This is still a very fun read, but not a lot happened in this issue despite being non-stop action. Well written and drawn, still a lot of untapped potential here.
It’s a very motivated Blood and a very reluctant Thunder versus a very angry Prisoner from Cell Block X. What could go wrong? (Hint: everything!)
I've enjoyed this story and this is a good chapter in it. I like the team-up, and the scene where Batman leaves so the other two can get the information was classic. Good stuff.
Stranded far from home, Batman, Harvey Bullock, and the Penguin must form ashaky alliance to bring down the age-old immortality cult known only as Elixir. Butas tensions rise among this unlikely trio, it becomes increasingly doubtful that thisalliance is possible…or that the Dark Knight will ever make it back to Gotham City.
Crazy. Absolutely insane. I love it.
Bruce Wayne is trapped within the horrors of Ark M as his best friendWaylon Jones endures unimaginable tortures…but what awaits Batman isfar more terrifying than anything either has faced…the true form of Baneis revealed. But it’s how Bane plans to break Batman that will have you,our dear readers, bending over backward.
I've been loving this series, getting the X-Men back to the basics and community outreach and improving relations with the normies around them will always be a good story to tell. I'm glad they're keeping the Mutina thread alive even if she isn't featured in the book. Writing was great, art was great, plot was enjoyable. Looks like they're giving Nightcrawler yet another love interest, that's amore
For the first time in New Orleans history, the city has declared a MUTANT APPRECIATION DAY festival and street fair, with all the music, food and fun the city is famous for. If the Hellfire Gala is filet mignon, this is corn dogs and lemonade. But are all mutants okay with this attempt at bridging the gap, or are sinister forces lurking behind the ...
Wow. That was just incredible. Everything about it was near perfect. The action was incredible, the dialog was impeccable, the art was gorgeous. Everything was a 10/10. The art isn't even a style I usually prefer but you can tell a lot of effort was put into those panels. Lots of detail and the colors were great. The early panels of the two Moons gliding through the air were beautiful. Themore
SPECIAL OVERSIZED 250th ISSUE! Face front, True Believers! This year marks fifty sense-shattering years of sense-shattering action in the pages of MOON KNIGHT! I've enjoyed this book, I REALLY like the lineup, but this is the issue where it all seemed to come together and they became a "team." Great writing and solid art. Any book with Spiderwoman gets an automatic score boost from me, but this has been legit good.
ULTRON CIVIL WAR! As the Church of Ultron clashes with a new iteration, OMEGA ULTRON, the West Coast Avengers race to contain the fallout! But where does their own Ultron stand?
There's quite some emotional payoff for the whole series in this penultimate chapter of West Coast Avengers. The execution could be better, but I did enjoy the dynamics of the team, the Ultron dialogue and Killerwatt's relatable dilemma. This team, for whatever reason, feels more honest and more like a family than most of Marvel's current rosters and I will miss it (a little).
ULTRON CIVIL WAR! As the Church of Ultron clashes with a new iteration, OMEGA ULTRON, the West Coast Avengers race to contain the fallout! But where does their own Ultron stand?
This was a good issue that has started tying this story together. I wasn't entirely on-board with this story before this issue revealed something on the last page and now it's starting to make sense. It's been well-written the whole time, but I just wasn't sure where it was going. The art is quite good too. Good stuff.
SABRETOOTH. WOLVERINE. DEATH. WOLVERINE versus SABRETOOTH on the grounds of the HOWLETT ESTATE! You've been waiting decades for this…and Wolverine's been dreading it for a century!
Decent book, you know what you're getting with a Vampirella comic. I bought it for the beautiful Joseph Michael Linsner cover but didn't regret the three or four minutes of my life I spent reading it. One day I'd love it if they splurged and brought in a top tier writer and let JML do all the interior art for a magnum opus Vampirella story.
THE COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION BEGINS!
Return to the future world of Sepulcher City in Vampirella: Armageddon, from the masterfully mesmerizing creative team of writer TOM SNIEGOSKI and artist KEWBER BAAL!
Picking up where Sniegoski’s most recent Vampirella Strikes! series left off, Armageddon opens with the Daughter of Dr...
I had no interest in this at first. I didn't know what it was about, but I thought being about a trucker and his rig and created by Post Malone told me all I needed to know. I don't actively dislike Post Malone or anything, his music ain't my type of music and his vibe ain't my type of vibe.
Then at my comic shop I saw the Peach Momoko cover and had to get it for that alone, one of more

This is shaping up to be another banger event. I'm always down for more Apocalypse related stories and making Doug Ramsey interesting is a true testament to the power of Apocalypse. The writing and art were both great. Looking forward to this event.
X years from today: welcome to the AGE OF REVELATION! The Revelation Territories stretch from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River, a mutant land ruled over by the Heir of Apocalypse. While on the surface a kind of mutant utopia, the cracks are beginning to show-and the lie that this land was built upon stirs the flames of rebellion. Learn h...

But even with the help of the Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension, several of the doubles are too powerful to contain. To understand how to stop them, the team needs a genius, one who wasn't connected to the original Illumi...
Good event so far. Great writing and art, good plot. I'm never a big fan of the cosmic space stuff, but this has me interested so far. The skirmish between BP and the Hulks was especially fun.
Part two of a four-part Marvel cosmic event! Against the fallout of someone mysteriously killing the rulers of the Marvel galactic empires, the fires of war are lit! As that conflict simmers, NOVA and STAR-LORD race to discover who is behind all these evil acts - a journey that takes them to the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda!
This issue was a little boring but had some decent character development. The art supply store scene was good.
UNCONTROLLABLE CARNAGE! Eddie is losing his grip on Carnage's powers and bloodlust. Can he keep the symbiote's baser instincts at bay until they locate a suitable target? Or will innocent people begin to pay for Eddie's hubris? Meanwhile, back in Chicago, Eddie and Carnage go from Hunter to Hunted as MUSE closes in on who destroyed his studio.
I want to like this more than I do. I always hate when interior art is such a huge drop off from cover art. I've always been of the opinion that the interior artist should do cover A and the cover specialists can do the variant covers, but I know that's not the best business strategy. Still feels like false advertising. There were also a couple scenes that just didn't feel well-written. The amore

Didn't we buy it for the cover?
