I thoroughly enjoyed this issue. I'm not usually a fan of the magic side of Marvel. Don't care about Dr. Strange or any of that stuff. I somewhat enjoyed GODS, but more for its potential than what it actually was. I'm not a big fan of Doom either, but I appreciated the character building this issue did with him. The dialogue was fantastic, the art was solid and the story was interesting. I expected this book to be around a 7 for me, I was very pleasantly surprised. more

TBH, it was brave of North to pick up what could be considered a poisoned chalice - a project that was built up with months of hype only to fall flat and get swept under the rug. Seeing him offer a bit of cheeky meta-critique through Mia's impatience with Wyn is somewhat rewarding (Wyn does get gradually less sympathetic through the course of G.O.D.S. #1-8, and the final issue spotlighting him doesn't help that at all), and if this were setting up a revitalised G.O.D.S. series with North at the helm, I'd be intrigued. more

It's ok. Definitely feels like there's not much direction here and it's just kooky for the sake of being kooky.

Good story and writing that's held back a bit by really bad art. The story isn't entirely original but it's well done and not something that's been overdone, so I'm enjoying it.

My only complaint is that I have to wait for the rest of the story. I love these Battle Royale-style stories, even better when the participants have themes (like this issue's Nurse Pete). Some manga/anime I like in this genre are Killing Bites (animal themes) and Juni Taisen (surface level zodiac themes). There's more, but those are two of the top of my head. Anyway, loving this book so far.

The art is nice but the writing is kinda meh so far. I know Tim Seeley can do better, I love Local Man. I like the plot and setting and all, but the biggest problem is every time the commander opens his mouth it's just cringy and annoying. The stereotype is lazy, bad writing and it takes away from my enjoyment of the book. Not enough to make me hate it, or even rate it low, but it would definitely be higher with better dialogue and writing. I'll definitely give it another issue or two, but if that stuff keeps up I'll probably drop it. more

I'm thoroughly enjoying this series, even if sometimes I don't know wtf is going on. The first part was good, especially the banter about omegas. I know don't what that ending was about, but I'll looking forward to finding out. It seems they're making this Storm series and the Phoenix series kind of parallel each other, giving them both high-stakes cosmic adventures, but Phoenix is more in her natural element in space than Storm is and Storm is supposed to still be a member of the Avengers while Phoenix has been cut free of any Earthly obligations. Those quibbles notwithstanding, it's still an excellently written and drawn comic and I'm enjoying it. The supporting cast is excellent, and I always appreciate more Bishop. more

Another great issue for this series. The plot twist was extremely obvious, but it was all well executed. Feels and looks like you're reading a Don Bluth comic but for adults, and I loved Don Bluth movies as a kid.

Beautiful art and great action. It seemed to go in circles a bit, especially when repeating the title of the book a number of times in the dialogue. It was still a lot of fun and mostly introduced the characters and world well enough for a first issue. Can't wait to see where this goes.

I'm liking this a lot more than I thought I would. The writing and art are top tier. This feels like a Lobo book in all the best ways.

This is still a very fun read, but not a lot happened in this issue despite being non-stop action. Well written and drawn, still a lot of untapped potential here.

I've enjoyed this story and this is a good chapter in it. I like the team-up, and the scene where Batman leaves so the other two can get the information was classic. Good stuff.

I've been loving this series, getting the X-Men back to the basics and community outreach and improving relations with the normies around them will always be a good story to tell. I'm glad they're keeping the Mutina thread alive even if she isn't featured in the book. Writing was great, art was great, plot was enjoyable. Looks like they're giving Nightcrawler yet another love interest, that's always fun lol. The early comment by Rogue about inviting someone and hoping they show up led to a really nice payoff later in the issue. Overall a really good feel-good issue. more

Wow. That was just incredible. Everything about it was near perfect. The action was incredible, the dialog was impeccable, the art was gorgeous. Everything was a 10/10. The art isn't even a style I usually prefer but you can tell a lot of effort was put into those panels. Lots of detail and the colors were great. The early panels of the two Moons gliding through the air were beautiful. The writing was SO good. Too many examples to list, but each character had a distinct and appropriate voice. That was one of the best single issue comics I've read in a while. My face hurts from smiling so hard while reading it. more

I've enjoyed this book, I REALLY like the lineup, but this is the issue where it all seemed to come together and they became a "team." Great writing and solid art. Any book with Spiderwoman gets an automatic score boost from me, but this has been legit good.

There's quite some emotional payoff for the whole series in this penultimate chapter of West Coast Avengers. The execution could be better, but I did enjoy the dynamics of the team, the Ultron dialogue and Killerwatt's relatable dilemma. This team, for whatever reason, feels more honest and more like a family than most of Marvel's current rosters and I will miss it (a little).

This was a good issue that has started tying this story together. I wasn't entirely on-board with this story before this issue revealed something on the last page and now it's starting to make sense. It's been well-written the whole time, but I just wasn't sure where it was going. The art is quite good too. Good stuff.

Decent book, you know what you're getting with a Vampirella comic. I bought it for the beautiful Joseph Michael Linsner cover but didn't regret the three or four minutes of my life I spent reading it. One day I'd love it if they splurged and brought in a top tier writer and let JML do all the interior art for a magnum opus Vampirella story.

I had no interest in this at first. I didn't know what it was about, but I thought being about a trucker and his rig and created by Post Malone told me all I needed to know. I don't actively dislike Post Malone or anything, his music ain't my type of music and his vibe ain't my type of vibe.

Then at my comic shop I saw the Peach Momoko cover and had to get it for that alone, one of her best I've seen. So I decided to read it since I bought it anyway and was VERY pleasantly surprised. The story isn't super original but it was very fun. Big Trouble in Little China meets Army of Darkness. The art was surprisingly REALLY good as well, especially for an indie celebrity made book like this.

I'll be following this ride to the end, and it'll be one of my first reads each week it comes out. more

This is shaping up to be another banger event. I'm always down for more Apocalypse related stories and making Doug Ramsey interesting is a true testament to the power of Apocalypse. The writing and art were both great. Looking forward to this event.

Good event so far. Great writing and art, good plot. I'm never a big fan of the cosmic space stuff, but this has me interested so far. The skirmish between BP and the Hulks was especially fun.

This issue was a little boring but had some decent character development. The art supply store scene was good.

I want to like this more than I do. I always hate when interior art is such a huge drop off from cover art. I've always been of the opinion that the interior artist should do cover A and the cover specialists can do the variant covers, but I know that's not the best business strategy. Still feels like false advertising. There were also a couple scenes that just didn't feel well-written. The apple scene in particular, it was an abrupt and unearned 180 from the kid going from grateful and in awe to "go away you freak" just because SS ... stopped bullets and possibly saved his life. This isn't an uncommon trope, but it's lazy writing in my opinion (and I know Greg Pak can do much better.) The overall plot still has my interest though and I won't be dropping the book. I'm not anticipating the art getting any better but hopefully the writing does. more
