Comic Watch - Theron Couch
Mar 13, 2025There is no denying that West Coast Avengers creative team is out to make this a fun and appropriately funny comic. The humor has been the biggest reason to pick the issue up each month. But West Coast Avengers #5 demonstrates that relatively light hearted adventures and the humor that comes with them isnt the only thing the series has to offer. While leaning too far away from those defining qualities wouldnt be ideal for the series, it works to great effect here, producing the series strongest overall issue so far. Read Full Review

AIPT - Kieran O'Brien
Mar 12, 2025If you're looking for a low-stakes superhero punch-out, then this book is for you. While there's nothing wrong with that, this issue had the potential to be something more emotionally resonant, but it squandered the opportunity. Duggan's affection for the character of Firestar has served him well in the past, so it feels strange to have her big decision in this issue feel rushed. Overall, the book just isn't telling a cohesive story or digging deep enough into these characters to produce anything truly satisfying. Read Full Review
