West Coast Avengers #10 is a whirlwind of action, emotion, and finality. The layout and coloring amplify Omega Ultrons presence and the teams desperation; the pacing is tight but fitting for a finale. Dialogue and character moments offer warmth amid the chaos. Though one wonders if this story needed more room to roam, the chapter feels complete, earnest, and true to the spirit of a quirky, idiosyncratic team going out on its own terms. If youve followed this seriesenjoyed its humor, its weird family bonds, its surprising heartthen this issue delivers a satisfying, if condensed, farewell. I’m giving a somewhat generous mark because what this series got right was at least having an ambitious story. It never quite gelled which was a shame but the potential was there, and there were some real highlights along the way. Sadly, most of what failed was the attempts at humour that never seemed to fit or find their right moment. Still it was nice to see Spider-Woman taken seriously and not be regarded as some fantasy version of a what woman should be as has been her main chore over many of her recent prior appearances. Rhodey could have done a bit more and WonderMan was little more than a plot device but at least Killerwatt’s arc tied in with the central theme, even if it was a tad cheesy. So gone. Not sorely missed imo b ut a little bittersweet because of that ambition it did contain. more

The showdown with Ultron is an unclear mess, but as usual I enjoyed the more personal scenes. There’s a sense of closure and new beginnings. I hope we haven’t seen the last of Tony Stark’s rehabilitation team, especially Killerwatt, who for me was the standout character of this all too short run.
