DANGEROUS. UNHINGED. DEADLY. Deadpool is a man on the brink, and that means the jobs are deadlier, the stakes are higher, and the humor is darker than ever before. But Wade Wilson isn't laughing. A dark memory haunts Deadpool, as a mysterious client leads him down a troubling path. This way lies redemption? No, something far worse. Wade can never be forgiven for what he's done... the new ongoing series begins!

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

One could put just about any character in the situation that Deadpool's in and make it interesting. At least with respect to the basic premise that gets it set up at the end of the issue. The fact that Deadpool is completely directionless, and he now has a very solid and concrete direction in which to travel makes everything that much more interesting. He's had a direction pointed out to him and now he's going to follow it. Because there's nothing else for him to do. It's kind of an interesting dynamic for a heroic series. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

Wade Wilson: Deadpool #1 successfully repositions the Merc with a Mouth by pairing familiar chaos with a clear emotional shift. Percy keeps the humor sharp while planting seeds that something is deeply off with Wade, creating intrigue that carries the issue forward. Shaw’s detailed, visceral artwork enhances both the violence and the character acting, helping ground the story even when Deadpool is at his most outrageous. The issue does not reveal all its cards, but it sets a compelling tone, suggesting this new era will explore Wade’s pain in fresh ways without abandoning what fans love about the character. Capes & Tights - Justin Soderberg

Wade Wilson: Deadpool is an unhinged new series with a blend of old school Deadpool and those only familiar with the films. Writer Benjamin Percy understood the assignment and along with artist Geoff Shaw and colorist Alex Sinclair with an amazing gory mixture of comedy, heart, and killing. Read Full Review

Wade Wilson: Deadpool #1 is beautifully unhinged and works very well as the setup for Deadpool’s new ongoing series. Most of the issue is scattered fun and games until the end, but that’s very in line with Deadpool’s brand. Whether or not this redefines the character of Wade Wilson can only be seen after several issues, but for now, it’s not a bad start. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez

Wade Wilson: Deadpool #1's bloody pun rush through that farm meat-grinder and the clown doom tease deliver real kicks worth your time if twisted Wade pain is what you're looking for. Trope mud and mopey dumps stall the full glory potential of the issue, keeping it from true shelf-queen status in a crowded pull list. Grab it if Deadpool's dark spiral grabs you by the throat; otherwise, it idles comfy on the pass pile without breaking your bank. Read Full Review

Plot Deadpool takes down a drug cartel in a sequence as dizzying as it is absurd, then heads to Hammerhead to collect his payment for this mercenary job. But Deadpool isn't enjoying these jobs; he's going through an existential crisis and wants to punish himself constantly. But out of nowhere, messages predicting the future appear, sparking Deadpool's curiosity and possibly his desire for adventure. With a powerful, direct, and honest narrative pace, we're introduced to this existential adventure in true Deadpool style. Art It's incredibly detailed with an amazing organic feel, elevating the breakneck narrative to the max with brilliant dynamism. Through body language, it conveys what Deadpool wants to say without using any facia more

This comic series feels like its so bad that it's turning to be good. It's just stupid, but its deadpool... so its fine.. I know, very confusing. There are soo soo many good comics out there, this one doesn't have any chance. I suppose even Marvel can't kill it.

The book begins with Deadpool hiding inside the ass of a Cow. if that interests you then you may like this book. I don't mind gross or even childish humor. I still laugh at fart jokes. but this book is just a poor mans version of the Deadpool movies. This is not the Character you read from Rob , Fabian , Kelly or even Wade. The book is just nonstop stuff happening with Blood and gore. the reasoning ... just because. We finally get a story premise beginning to emerge at the final pages but its too little too late. This type of book was done way better in the Lobo Cancellation special. sorry Ben but this didn't land.
