Mar 18, 2026Wade Wilson: Deadpool #2 is a wild, fast-moving issue that thrives on absurd escalation and sharp humor. Ben Percy and Geoff Shaw push Wade into increasingly ridiculous and dangerous scenarios, while quietly building a darker undercurrent about why he is doing any of it. The action is inventive, the pacing rarely lets up, and the character work reminds you that beneath the jokes is someone spiraling. While the ending does not hit as hard as the rest of the issue, the ride getting there is chaotic, funny, and just uncomfortable enough to keep things interesting. Read Full Review

Plot Deadpool continues to receive these notes that predict the future, and he's used them to stop a multitude of crimes and tragedies, profiting from the situation. Of course, Deadpool resolves all these situations with extreme violence and hilarious dialogue. This existential crisis of Deadpool's, where he's physically punishing himself, stems from nightmares involving his daughter, Ellie. Hammerhead visits Deadpool to hire him, but Wade rejects him, saying he now works for himself thanks to notes from the future. He receives another note and leaves. Deadpool goes to stop the murder of Sleepy Marino, the very person Hammerhead wants dead. In other words, whoever is sending him the notes is interfering with Hammerhead's plans. more

Well we get more of the Ryan Reynolds Deadpool movie script that didn't make it to Hollywood. Thats what this is, it's just Ben trying to write Ryan Reynolds Deadpool and not Deadpool in comics. It's not as over the top as the first issue with Deadpool emerging from a cows butt. being a little more grounded helps this issue along than the first one in terms of plot but its all still up in the air. Ellie is dead, how ? when? I also don't care as shes a terrible character. If we at least had some more progress to that end I'd feel more satisfied. We get hammerhead and Deadpool's future predicting plot tying together but barely. thats kinda how this issue goes. its just lots of plots happening and bad jokes that wouldn't fly in MCU Deapool.
