there is no one reading this comic. and its justified. Tim Seely has somehow lost the plot only 3 issues in. I asked myself 3 times... what is happening in this series at all? Maybe cable is still trying to stop President Kamala Khan from being killed ? (Let's hope he fails as the character is terrible). We cleared Hellverine and now BoomBoom as the assassin and maybe Cable is dead? who cares. We are left with only Archangel so let's please end this series. Anyone giving this series a good rating is lying to you and a shill. the amount of reviews dropped off a cliff. im actually buying it. stay away. more

There are not enough opioids in the planet to make this book make sense. Is there any story progression ?? If so I missed it. A big fat nothing burger loaded with self indulgence and stoner imagery. What a mess of a book. At least parts of it are well drawn and colorful. Otherwise it’s nothing literally. The book has nothing more to say for many issues now and this is dragging along to fill i ssues.

Dc is taking some big chances coming off K.O and replacing Superman with a semi divisive Superboy Prime.
I must admit I loved this issue. But I like Superboy Prime when he’s written well. Semi meta -commentary, with his charm Is win win for me. Great first issue that takes some chances with his semi redemption story beginning. Mix it in with the amazing work of Dan Mora…book is gorgeous.

Gail Simone continues her reign of terror on the X-Men books. This issue, like all the others in this “Where the Monsters Dwell " story, is particularly terrible. Whether it's the dialogue of Gambit and Rogue, the bumbling villains like Lady Darkhold who are dispatched like something out of Scooby-Doo, or the dragon at the end...this book offers so much to offend X-Men fans. The art is also som ething to behold. Luciano must have been rushed or simply not given a damn due to the page rate. Many of the people have no faces even drawn on them. When the art switches to David Massina, it's equally as bad and very jarring.
I look at this issue only 1 way: this story arc is a mess, it's dumb, and it’s $5.99. Get the hell out of town! Fire Gail Simone. Someone please save the X-Men ! more

The inconsistent art trend continues, as David Marquez fills his pages with lots of empty space, relying on the fact that his faces and figures still look better on a lazy work day than those of most other artists. Unfortunately, this is only going to work for so long before readers start seeing through the illusion. Just ask John Byrne.

Fill-in artist Luciano Vecchio's work looks more solid, but I just don't care for his saccharine style.

The backup story is drawn by a third artist, David Messina, who's okay, but not spectacular.

Storywise, Uncanny X-Men #25 is a mildly entertaining but somewhat confusing read, especially when you know nothing about the Darkhold mythos. Is this Darkhold lady Agatha Harkness? She calls herself Agatha Timly, but she looks like the rejuvenated Agatha Harkness and you can't possibly have two witches called Agatha who also look the same in the Marvel universe, can you? Well, you probably can, but it would be pretty confusing, even for Marvel.more

Issue 18 of Absolute Wonder Woman is a bit of a slow down from last weeks kinda lazy grow bigger punch fest. We get some nice moments here with Diana and Zatanna after they have a brief battle. The book features Dianas full cast of friends made along the series. If you haven't been paying full attention, you'll have next to no idea who the hell these people all are. If you have - it's a nice callb ack. I'm still all in on this book though it is a bit of a slam on the breaks as we build towards the big battle with Giovanni. Exposition dumps are tough to layout and look interesting. Hayden does a fine job in this issue. more

What can be said about this issue. I’ll start with the most basic. Tom king sets up nothing. Tom Writes what he may think is a big story arc but like most of his work It falls flat from the bad out of character work. You get 1 panel of WW in the book. The storytelling is just abysmal. The characters? Wooden. Often feeling like they are reading scripts or cosplaying as the actual characters. Much of this book is boring, Diana fans deserve better than this. Trinity is insufferable and the King change from a GL ring to it being kryptonite only highlights his screw up with the GL rules, so he changes it. It now makes the fact that the matriarch shot energy from a kryptonite ring all the more dumb. I really do not think Tom King is a bad writer.often his initial concept is good or at least interesting. But as a COMIC WRITER Tom king is awful and anyone who suffers through his run on your favorite character… I pity you. No worries. The lack of sales and outcry always catch up to him.
At least the art is beautiful. more

Well we get more of the Ryan Reynolds Deadpool movie script that didn't make it to Hollywood. Thats what this is, it's just Ben trying to write Ryan Reynolds Deadpool and not Deadpool in comics. It's not as over the top as the first issue with Deadpool emerging from a cows butt. being a little more grounded helps this issue along than the first one in terms of plot but its all still up in the air. Ellie is dead, how ? when? I also don't care as shes a terrible character. If we at least had some more progress to that end I'd feel more satisfied. We get hammerhead and Deadpool's future predicting plot tying together but barely. thats kinda how this issue goes. its just lots of plots happening and bad jokes that wouldn't fly in MCU Deapool. If you've read Deadpool in the comics you'll know this isn't wade, if you're a MCU only fan and decided to pick up a comics for the first time after watching Wolverine Deadpool, this book feels like home. If you read Ben's Deadpool/Wolverine series in 2025 that Deadpool was way less over the top and more comic ish. Lets get more of that and less Ryan Reynolds.

I have never been a Tony Fleecs fan. I enjoyed the first 3 issues of Feral before it became annoying, and I stopped buying it . With that said , I admit I was apprehensive of seeing his name on a Deathstroke book. But why not ? I really enjoyed this first issue. It's fast-paced, and it’s Slade doing what he does best. The plot was basic with Slade on a job with little intel who contracted him. T hen it all falls apart, and we end on a cool cliffhanger with Slade looking jacked up and the odds against him. It's enough to make me very excited to see what's next, and while some of this got very exposition-heavy, it was just enough not to be eye-rolling, so it lowered the score, and I wanted a little more plot, but...Well done bringing this long-mistreated character (I’m looking at you, Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths) back to his roots.
The art was top-tier also. more

Massive exposition dumps abound and flashbacks. Boring generic villain. More Glob. I almost fell asleep 1/2 through the issue. It’s so low tier mid but at least the art remains high quality with Diaz fighting for his life to make this script enticing.

I've been a fan this series but this issue is a huge miss . What even was this? a battle with one above all on the moon? just awful stuff. this series is better than this. it all happens so quick its like I was missing pages. for the little that did even happen.

I ask one big question with this series - Why does this need to exist?
We dive back into a series full of just eye rolling garbage. The overall premise isn't bad. In fact I like it. How it's being executed however by Alex Paknadel is the issue. The Reavers are hunting Mei who escaped from their mining facility. Cyclops was shot down while traveling and is hurt and without his visor. They li nked up and here we are... stuck with just stuff crammed together. Mei has super strength but cannot work when shes afraid... due to cortisol levels... but cortisol is managed by stress. so none of this makes sense. she was able to work while a captive and wasn't afraid or stressed ? How about Cyclops says he trained for being in the woods blindfolded was near the top of the list...just bad jokes.This plot reads like a bad 80s action movie. Pierce is acting out of sort to fit this story. I'm really tired of X-men solo character series that suck. they cannot even manage to get Wolverine right on that title. This title is the best of the really bad solo books for whatever thats worth. more

Battle Beast is back after a hiatus, and man did I miss this book. We get a slow down this issue while all our cast of characters heal up, and (imagine this Spiderman death spiral) we get character development plus plot progression!! A top book continues to be awesome despite the mellow tone of this book. The art is fantastic and detailed. Welcome back, Battle Beast!!

Joe Kelly must have given just some outline notes because even he would not pull off a dud of a comic like this one. We had 1 decent issue of Spirals. The Venom issue sucked… nothing really happened to move the plot forward and here we are all over again… NOTHING IS HAPPENING. It’s a shame too because we do get some moments in this series with MJ and Peter, Eddie as an abused child. All the char acter work is overshadowed by this crossover event that doesn’t seem to really be a Crossover event. I know nothing about Torment other than he’s killing people related to the Spider Family and it’s barely the focus . Other than that we are 2 issues deeper with near zero progress. This really stinks of a cash grab to fill 9 issues and sell comics vs an actual story. And that’s why I say skip this issue. Nothing happens.Pt 3 same deal. What will happen is you’ll have $10 extra in your pocket. This art is good but it’s so inappropriate for this type of comic. Damn shame. Death spiral is so far… spiraling down the toilet.
Save your Money. Don't buy it. you aren't missing ANYTHING. more

The Lobo Cancellation Special was one of the funniest and best comics of all 2024. Hearing that we are now going to get another Lobo series had me excited. Lobo is a bit much at times but he’s always hilarious and absurd. Skottie young on this title gets the absurd part -mostly this plot but he misses the comedy that made the cancellation special so great. We get glimpses of it so maybe he can tw eak this. Example -We start the book with Lobo on a bounty hunt. The Bar owner gets upset that Lobo parks next to a sign that reads “no parking”. Lobo rips off his arm and changes the sign to “Lobo parking “,Love it. However the rest is just stuff happening to push the story forward with none of the typical Lobo jokes that land. The rest of the issue is Lobo trying to get paid but he just starts killing guys and attacking guards for little reason that Skottie needs to more action. We find out the Bounty hunter industry is bought entirely by a company called OOEC run by a greedy executive with tvs on his head. They want to make Lobo into the next big reality tv star for bounty hunting. Sounds like an interesting Premise but if Skottie is going to miss on the Jokes this series can get old fast. I keep bringing it back to the master work on the Cancellation special. That work was the best written Lobo in a Long time. The paramilitary Christmas special also hilarious and absurd. The art very fun very but hard to make out sometimes. This whole issue … just above mid for me. more

Fantastic issue. So fun. No further notes.

We pick up from the previous spiral issue which was quite good and get this. A full on slam the breaks book full of so much darn talking. Nothing really happens at all here. It barely moves the story forward. What a misstep vs last issue. Who ever is telling Al Ewing he can write comedy needs to stop. The jokes are awful. Inappropriately timed. And Al has the comedic timing of a dead moth.
Enough of this bad Venom. more
