still the best X-men solo series but its not much. the story is basic and blah. I dont like any of the characters except Cyclops and the villains are so disposable it's ridiculous. we end of Uru being found by the reavers... and I really hope we dont get into asguardian bullcrap. the book is cheesy enough.

We are a few issues in and the story is moving along pretty slowly. it's not terrible but it's still just too over the top that it becomes corny. My other big complaint is this isn't the Deadpool from the comics I love. This is 100% movie Deadpool and I just don't want that.
Im still buying but this story needs to pay off soon. and get back to be a little more comics Wade.sadly look at the reviews or rather lack of them. No ones reading this anymore. Sad. more

I would prefer having no Storm series at all over this garbage. Another character ruined.

The danger room story has not been good. But it’s one of the better of the X-men storylines in a while. But I’ll repeat. It’s not good. And X-men has been better than what Gail is doing. Here we get another part in the danger room storyline. I’ll leave it at this- This issue is nothing. It’s just a blah nothing issue. If you don’t buy it , you’ll miss nothing. Really a waste of pages.

Well we get a Claremont slowdown recap type issue. And it’s very much needed. Joe wisely takes time to remind the reader of how much has happened with Peter. That much I applaud. The art is competent and well done as well.
So why a 5.5? All the things being recalled remind me how bad ASM has been. The deaths story was so bad. The captain kintsugi stuff. The lame aliens. Christ this w as like ptsd. Joe is a good writer. What’s been happening with his ASM run is beyond me. This stuff just pain sucks. I just want good spiderman comics and this ain’t it. more

I'm so sick and tired of this type of story telling by Matt Fraction.
Fraction is pretty much a poor mans Tom King, They pick up , discard , restart story elements at a whim with little to no build up all for the sake of "wow moments". They both also have the habit of disregarding any and all character development before them. How many times has Wayne manor been blown up at this point? I lost out at 4-6 times. How many times has Batman been on the run from the police?

Issues 5-6 were really fun and good. Those 2 issues are stand outs as they actually tell a blended story. Since then let's follow the story.
#7 Joker in a tank convo- how that happened, why, how long ... none of it answered. Its started for a wow moment and ends on one. It ends on Joker saying " someone's coming to kill you Bruce". very cool but Sorry it's then abandoned just like the minotaur.
#8 is a coffee convo about Vandal Savage with Alan Scott. The Joker story? gone. the Minotaur? Gone. Ninjas from issue 5-6 ? gone. Someone coming to kill Bruce? Gone. this starts and ends with a convo over coffee and villains plotting.
#9 Batman is going to destroy all the Bat hideouts. why? its a hideout. did Vandal magically get knowledge of where Batman hides all his stuff? if so when? we just have to accept something happened. Batman did street construction and put bollards in the streets of Gotham. Vandal didn't see those but found Batman's hideouts? We get a rehash as if we are back to square 1 with Bruce and Damian's relationship. Also Batman tells A.I Alfred he's glad he's dead and Alfred says I'll see you in Hell. WTF? so all the storylines I mentioned before- everything just gone again. Barbara is arrested and Wayne Manor is blown up. another set of "wow moments"
this book is an incoherent mess. Fraction cannot make up his mind on what story he wants to tell and when.
Batman deserves better than this mess.
I'm giving it a higher grade based on the art by Ryan Sook who did a nice job.

Jeff Loeb is a great writer. His most recent work on Batman however , Hush 2 for instance is terrible. This book is not much better. It's as if Jeff has blinders to the rest of what's happened sine Hush 1 ( which BTW was just decent). The book is a mess.The cat woman stuff stealing the lasso of truth, batman yet again " who can he love" stuff is cringe. the story is sloppy and revisionist. Loeb needs to clean up his writing on Batman. it's really been dreadful and incoherent lately. The issue has bright spots but even those are mid at best. more

I have always loved Doom. His power, brilliance and arrogance are intriguing. Doom 2099 was pretty good and this book by Tieri and Randal is another in that line. The story itself is simple. Doom has won,having killed everything on the planet. The world is just Doom and the Doombots who help him try to undo what he's done via time travel. Doom finds he's unable to reverse it and instead looks t o Ultron. Thats the whole story in this one shot. Its basic and it's perhaps the only thing bad about it. Anyone will have seen the twist coming from 5 miles away when you read 4-5 pages in.Its also the first line in the Solicit. The art is very good and Randal did beautiful work. Overall it's an easy read, it's fun and beautiful to look at. On a 5th week where most of the comics releases are pure garbage ,this one is an easy recommend. more

Uncanny X-men #27 reads like a disjointed mess disguised as a mystery because it is one. Gail Simone once again is all over the map and only cares to write the new characters she’s made vs ones fans actually care about. So sorry folks, if you want to see Wolverine , Gambit , Rogue and NightCrawler having adventures you’ll be upset. Because this story is about Mutina, and the outliers. those chara cters are unlikeable and lame. Those guys just suck. They don’t get any better here. Instead we get a jumbled mess of a story In the elsewhere,Filled with Gail with her usual crap of whatever she watched on tv that day. This time it’s Attack on Titan in the form of Sentinels. Also we see her awful character who is apparently part of Gambits backstory named the Vig. Who looks exactly like killer croc from Batman the Animated series. We also get some Avians trash that Gail also created. Thats really the story here. Gail is writing the Avians, the Outliers, The Vig and Mutina. I repeat-She isn’t interested in telling a X-men story with characters we care about. Terrible Stuff. more

Cyclops remains the best solo X-men title they have out. But if you think thats high praise then you are mistaken. The solo X- books are a disaster and this book is just mid. The premise is decent, Cyclops alone having crashed landed and without his visors.He's being hunted by the Reavers. That all works. All the other stuff- the part with Scott and his brother with the fire at Essex house in issu e 1 that was abandoned, the lame girl Mei who has powers only when she's not scared yet had them in captivity that all just sucks.Cyclops is bad ass enough that he can handle himself without yet another damn Mutant. We have far too many forgettable Mutants in Marvel. But here we are , Editorial can give a crap about this book- just read the solicitation with the typo. "How Cyclops fight back?!"
Thats really the story here. After this solo series is over -no one will remember it. It doesn't push any new ideas or revelations for Scott. It's just filler.5 issues of nothing to see here.more

Aside from Punisher this remains the next best title Marvel has. However this struggles with feeling less and less like Hulk. We get a cool battle with Ironman and the issue looks great. But it just didn’t strike me as hulk.

Kelly continues to world build and make this version of Diana the very best in comics today. My only notes are the villain was defeated far too easily. One minute he melted her arm off. The next issue he’s beaten in a few panels and now reformed. Regardless of that this book still stands out among all the Absolute titles along side Batman.
Kelly is killing it.

Joshua Williamson is really be having an absolute blast writing this character because I certainly am reading it. The Superman book was really good but this is a complete revamp. I’m loving every ridiculous page. The art is amazing as well. Dan Mora killed it on this issue. It reads very fast. The story is simple and nothing hard to grasp. Prime is a vicious killer. And he’s trying to reinvent hi mself. I had a huge smile on my face this entire issue. Cannot wait to see where this goes. more

Well it happened the event ended. While I thought we would have a huge exposition dump all issue on origins and motivations of the killer (maybe even an explanation of his powers last issue … nope. We get nothing. Just a generic story. A dismissed killer who now has no powers. This issue reads like Joe just wanted out of this story. He’s not alone , I want out also. This event was so lack luste r. No motivations explained and now Torment is dead. If you’ve bought the entire story it’s over $40. How utterly disappointing. more
