Your wrong about Dylan and you can’t hate him. He’s a relatable character in the Venom series. Of course he’s a bit annoying because that’s how most kids are in real life and his story is really interesting not because he’s Eddies son but because of his experience of dealing with hard moments in his life but manage to keep going and not giving up.

Nov 14, 2021Al Ewing writes a pretty solid opening issue here and provides lots of little plot threads for us to mull over. I particularly liked how he introduces Dylan and his talking cat. The way he has Eddie describe what it is like to control the symbionts is brilliant. I loved that he called the four that he used the most John, Paul, Ringo, and George, and kind of personalizing them. But the question that nags at me is where is Venom. What's happened to him. Nov 10, 2021Cates certainly navigated and expanded Eddie and the VENOM symbiote in a brand new direction with endless possibilities waiting on the horizon. Nov 13, 2021Given the fall out from the KING IN BLACK and EXTREME CARNAGE, it was always going to interesting to see what would happen in a new run. And given that you have Titans of the industry in Ram V and Al Ewing as co-writers, then this is one book that I was eager to get my hands on. It did not disappoint. An intriguing storyline which hints at being another fantastic story arc. Fans of the Venom comic should be picking this up if they haven't already! Read Full Review

Nov 08, 2021I am in a bit of a bind with this book. On one hand, I really like Ram V's work (yes even Catwoman!) and Hitch does add a professional, high quality style of pencils. On the others the art is too nice for a horror book. Couple these quandaries with the fact that I am not a huge Venom fan since he became an anti-hero all the back in Venom #1 and you can see my dilemma. I get why it had to be done. You can't have a major villain that is more powerful than the hero and expect him to keep losing. Venom isn't the Daleks for Pete's sake! I am sure that Venom fans will dive into this book but for me, it is a hard pass. Read Full Review

Amazing Issue by Ram V and Al Ewing. Edit:- I think main villain(person with red eyes) is actually Eddie Brock from distant future who had mastered ability to flow through time. Future Eddie wants to Present Eddie to go on same path as him. In the way, he had neglected Dylan. He had lost his Human aspect. Story basic plot would be developing Dylan and Eddie bond. Present Eddie would understand from his future counterpart what wrong step he took on path of King in Black. By the end, Eddie would most likely renounce his King in Black Status. I think that red Symbiote is Carnage or he is going to be any kind of problem that will future Eddie face. Maybe Future Eddie time travelled to save himself from facing that issue. Present Eddie would stop that future from happening with renouncing King in Black Status. more

This feeling if very familiar. I remember having similar one three and a half years ago with Venom #1 by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman. It's feeling of excitment. Intrigue. This first issue is amazing. I like it a lot.

Wow!!! That was absolutely incredible! I can't say enough about how much I loved every panel of this book. I have always been a big fan of venom ever since he was first introduced in 1988 in amazing Spider-Man 299 but what they've done of late is so incredible. Venom is becoming more than I ever would've dreamed he would be. I was completely hooked to this story almost immediately. The writing is phenomenal the story had exactly the feel I'm looking for in a venom book and was very intriguing and exciting. The artwork was fantastic the colors really popped. Honestly this may be my favorite single issue of venom. As you might be able to tell I can't wait for the next issue and to find out where this story goes. I don't know if you can have a better first issue more

This is very good! I'm definitely more into the Eddie Brock side of things, and assuming the writing credits for future issues aren't wrong, that won't be the focus in the next few issues. So I hope that issue two does more to establish Dylan's side of things. I'm excited for the series though. And even Bryan Hitch's artwork is good when I usually dislike its stiffness.

Really liked this issue. After the Cates run, I was worried that whoever was gonna take the reigns wouldn't be able to live up to the hype. Ewing and Ram V really start the series off on a high note. Love the focus on Dylan and how he is different than Eddie. I love the two stories of Eddie and Dylan about them being apart and how it affects each other. It's just a great starting point. My minor complaint about this issue is the art. Yes, yes give me all the hate since I said something bad about Bryan Hitch. I actually like Hitch quite a bit, even though he isn't anywhere close to his peak during Ultimates. His more recent work feels rushed and I find some of the details to be lacking a lot. I also don't think Alex Sinclair is the right colorist for Hitch's pencils. Sinclair is one of the best colorists out there, but his colors really work for pencils that show lots of detail and very clear action. He's trying his best to make up for some of that lost detail here, but it didn't really click for me personally. Like I said, this is a minor complaint, I didn't completely hate the art. There's one splash page that is amazing in this that probably took longer to draw than the rest of the issue. Highly recommend, and will be adding this to my pull list. more

As per usual, anything by Ram V is just so freaking good, in my opinion. Venom is absolutely no different! Al and Ram craft a really intriguing hell of a first issue and an incredible start to the first arc of what should be an amazing title. Hitch’s art really delivers, especially in the splash pages, which look so cinematic, yet classic to the comic book-y look. This title is going to be just fantastic.

I was interesting when was announced beacuse I knew that the creative team was so talented and finally after months I red it. I found it very enjoyable, the plot, the characters's characterizazion, the drawing and the new ideas of Al Ewing. It continues from the run that preceed it but introduce some gorgeous elements and a new well knwon artist that do a great job!

A strong debut issue wrh a lot of moving parts and plenty of setup and plenty of gorgeously rendered action. I dig layered stories and thus is looking like its going ot be a great one. In recent years Venom has struck me as a character that consistently gets thrown into the most epic most insane, large scale situations and stories despite coming from such humble beginnings. This new story looks like its gonna keep that energy. I just hope Ewing doesn't get too big for his britches, but given his track record I have nothing to worry about. Go buy this issue, I wanna see this story through!

This was good. Better than expected, even. The story was well paced and the the characters well written. I was surprised to find I wasn't enjoying Hitch's art as much as I usually do. It's...fine? Ok? But not what I'm used to from him. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

A pretty good start, in my opinion. I've never been a big Venom fan, but this was surprisingly interesting. As of this writing, I haven't read the previous run by Donny Cates. I do plan on checking that out eventually, though. Back to this series/issue, I must say that I agree with Psycamorean, in that I care more about Eddie's side of the story than Dylan's. It's just more interesting to me. That said, I think both of them have fairly intriguing stories and I'm looking forward to seeing how these two differing stories will be balance out as this series progresses.

Not sure how I feel about this. It's ambitious to be sure but there's so much crammed here that it seems like at times is just jumps awkwardly from one point to another without a lot of explanations. For example, why are the military (I'm assuming that's the military though I'm not sure) attacking Venom? And were they attacking Dylan or Eddie or both? I guess Venom is now hunted down like Hulk and Swamp Thing? There's just no cohesion at all between the various plots. Also, the whole "I can move through time now like it's no big deal" asks a lot of suspension of disbelief from the reader, even for comic books. There are some good points, though. The stuff with Eddie is obviously of much more interest than what's happening with Dylan but som ehow I didn't hate Dylan here, he was actually pretty good. Cates has been forcing this character for the last few years because he's feeling all fatherly lately wanting to become a father himself but he never got an interesting voice for Dylan, if anything he was annoying and wimpy. I kinda liked him here. As a huge Venom fan who has appreciated what Cates did with the character the last few years, it's a first issue that gives me some mixed feelings. On the one hand, it's a good creative team, with Ewing just finishing his Immortal Hulk run and probably on the lookout for the next big thing, with Ram V who is getting slightly better (though he's still limited as a writer, imo) and with good art from Hitch. On the other hand, it was a very chaotic issue and a lot of both of the writers' weaknesses were coming through. Here's hoping we get more of the former from here on! more

Merlyn - Nov 10, 2021I'm right about Dylan and I absolutely can hate him. :)) You don't get to tell what I can like/hate, are you crazy? He was very dull and uninteresting. Comparing him to other kids in the MU, he had nothing going on for him. Please stop telling me in the future what I can and not do.
Merlyn - Nov 10, 2021I get that you're a fan and you rated this with 10 and you're commenting on everyone's posts here defending the book. But tell me again what I can and can't like and how "I'm wrong" just because I don't like you what you like as much as you do and you're getting blocked. You need to learn some manners, pronto.
Merlyn - Nov 10, 2021Oh, you blocked me already yet you still want to comment here? What an absolute jerk you are!
FFJoshT - Nov 10, 2021Your the real dumb dumb stupid one here buddy I blocked you because your not making sense about Dylan because your the only one here is saying it. I have reasons already but I’m not going to spill it out to you because you will still ignore my reason that I already told you about. Good day.
Merlyn - Nov 10, 2021No, you're just stupid and you can't take the fact that people don't like what you like. Flash news: WE STILL DON'T LIKE DYLAN! Deal with it, idiot.
Merlyn - Nov 10, 2021Stop begging people to like what you like, it doesn't work like that, it just makes you look like an asshole. Which you are. Stupid idiotic asshole.
Mingthemerciless - Nov 11, 2021I've been enjoying Ram V on Swamp thing so I'm giving this version of venom a shot.
Merlyn - Nov 11, 2021I'm not a fan of Ram V at all, but Venom's one of my favorite characters and he hasn't had a better time as a character ever since he terrorized Spidey so I'm hoping this is the start of a great journey. Still, I found this lacking cohesion but maybe they'll get it right in the next issues.

This big intro extravaganza is certainly staffed with top-tier talent who make the most of the extra space. I worry about how it will play in ordinary-sized comics, though. Following 2 protagonists seems like it could be trouble; even here at the start, Eddie seems to be getting more than his share of development.
