Plot Tony Stark asks Captain America to investigate a version of Hawkeye that is not the one he was meant to be, as Clint rejected the mantle, someone else took it over and using arrows with Stane/Stark technology, he has caused havoc and deaths in his attacks on Roxxon. This Hawkeye is called Charli Ramsey, he is an American Indian who has an agenda against Roxxon's projects that have affected indigenous lands. This book just won't stop being amazing. Ultimate Hawkeye may be my favorite Ultimate yet! It was awesome character introduction by Deniz Camp. They're confident, snarky, political, & a total bad@$$. LOVE THEM. Given their worldview, I thought it was insanely smart to juxtapose their introduction vis-Ã -vis a showdown with Captain America. While Cap stands for so much that is good, he is still a symbol of America itself, which has an awful history as it relates to the treatment of country's indigenous people. It could have become an exaggerated pontification, but Camp's dialogue was smart to highlight just enough of the injustices committed which shaped Hawkeye's views of the world. One of my favorite issues of this series to date. The art was good but the writing was great. Cap studying Hawkeye during the "fight" was entertaining, as well as Hawkeye's reactions. Great intro issue for Hawkeye.

I loved this issue. It had such a good introduction to the character and a fairly decent back and forth with Cap and Hawkeye. It's so interesting seeing all the dynamics and allignments of everyone as the stakes get closer and closer. Excited to see what happens more with this character.

Another great character introduction here. I really like the idea of not everyone officially taking the mantle they were "supposed to" based on the 616 timeline. It keeps things more realistic, in my opinion, and allows for new characters, such as Charli, to step in. Speaking of which, Charli is already an intriguing character and I'm hoping to see more of them as the series progresses. Their conversation with Steve was super well-written, and I think Steve was the perfect person to confront them as well.

I like the monthly countdown and introduction of every character like this. I like Juan Frigeri's panels, composition, angles and level of details. Nice work! It's clear CAP took it easy on "Hawks Eye" lol because he didn't land a blow until it was time to get the kid to wake up and take on the mercs.

Each issue continues to be good but the characters and story feel so dry. I'm also finding the slow burn pace is further starting to lull my interest in the series.

First miss of this ultimate run. Up until this one they've all been great. The new Hawkeye spends this whole time essentially trying to kill cap, who in return seems incompetent as he fails to land a single hit on Hawkeye.
