Hulk #6 closes out its first story arc efficiently while introducing a new concept for the Hulk series, setting up the next arc involving Thor, and even making you feel for Bruce and Hulk. It's the kind of comic some might throw down in annoyance, while others will pull out their air guitars and start shredding in excitement. It may be polarizing, but it's undeniably raw entertainment. Apr 20, 2022Art the end of the day, this series is to the Hulk what Cates and Dylan Burnett's Cosmic Ghost Rider was to the Spirit of Vengeance. Your individual mileage will no doubt vary, but I have to say, I absolutely loved what the entire creative team came up with here. A brash, bombastic and aggressively ambitious story with some scintillating artwork, this latest Hulk series has been an absolute rollercoaster from start to finish. So far, this is the best issue of the serie. I enjoyed it reading it from the beginning till the end. But let's start with the art. Ottley work is still great, he draws the Titan and the various battle scene flawlessly. The design of Hulk-Galactus is amazing, although it is seen just for few pages. Finally, we can see Betty for what she really is, a kind of witch/robot/mutant from another dimension or personification of Bruce trauma. The story is great, finally Titan is raveled and maybe describe as the Hulk of the Hulk. I hope to see more of him in the next coming issues. Last but not least, the next arc/crossover Banner of War is introduced and we will know more about the El Paso incident. I can't wait for the next issue.

The incredible duo of Cates and Ottley manage to stick the landing with the conclusion of this arc. The story here gives Ottley a chance to shine, once again, in depicting scenes that feel menacing, horrific, and violent (with one of my favorite pages being the one where the door inside the starship reveals Hulk standing there. Overall, I would say this was a satisfying finale to this arc with a nice tease at the end for the Banner of War crossover.

It was a nice story arc. The premise was simple, it was mad, it was fun. It delivered on that front. Story development wise it landed a bit short, I needed more. But there was some interested beats and the execution of the major idea worked for me. I'll be here for the Hulk vs Thor match. After that, I think not. But if you're into good'ol superhero fun with Hulk at the center of the action, then this is for you!

This arc was pure insanity lol. Still no answers and Cates is clearly just doing enough to let Ottley shine but i would be lying if i say i didn't like it. The absurdity of this is just so big that it makes it impossible for me to not have fun despite some hiccups here and there, at this point they are basically saying "just sit down and enjoy the ride" and that's exactly what i'm gonna do.

I was a little off put by the beginning. The middle was the best part. The end was a little bland for the end of the arc but, the last page does excite me for Banner of War.

I admire the way this story is told, even though I don't much care for the details. The art is beautiful and the script has a really impressive cross-cut structure. It all comes together with a thrilling pace. But I'm really struggling to care about this dumb new Titan-Hulk form. I *am* curious about the nature of Not-Betty -- so much so that this issue's lack of explanation frustrated me.

This run quickly went from something I was excited for to suffering through to give the first arc a chance but will definitely be dropping now. Shame Ryan Ottley's amazing art is wasted on this story and hope to see him on another series in the future.

This comic was pointless. I mean, it was, objectively, pointless. It never resolved any of the central questions presented in earlier issues. We never learned what happened to turn Banner into an abusive lunatic. We never learned what was up with "Betty" - though she did call him "son" last issue. We were posed the question of the ages, "Why can't the Hulk have a Hulk?". The answer is, because that would be dumb. The art was fair. Ottley's illustrations seem to have gone downhill since the early issues. He's still Ottley, but he seems bored. The story is irredeemable. This is hands-down the worst work I've read from Cates. There's no development, he just jumps from one sight-gag to the next. The narrative is thin, as it has been for more
