This is a good issue that sets up some new conflicts and villains for Spider-Man to face off against. Unfortunately, it continues to not highlight Spidey in the suit and instead spends a lot of time setting up villains or focusing on non-Spider-Man characters. Amazing Spider-Man #8 was a fun start to Nick Spencer's new story arc. Spencer continues to do a great job writing Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson's renewed relationship. While the introduction of the Thieves Guild was not perfect the presentation of their leader, Odessa Drake, was well executed. Add in the ending involving the return of Black Cat and there is enough for fans to be excited about for what will after the events in this issue. Read Full Review

This was a set up issue but it was still really good. It cements this series in the current continuity and makes the universe feel more lived in and that's something not every Marvel series does, so it's a treat when things are acknowledged, especially so many different things.

Another great issue, and a very good start of a new arc. Loving how the story, while being Spidey centered, still involves a lot more characters around the world, making the whole thing seem more fleshed out.

I thought this was another good job by Spencer. I am not a Ramos fan so the art really just isnt for me. The stories do have that classic spidey feel to them as they almost feel very one shot like but with over arching plot threads as well.

I don't claim to have read a lot of Dan Slott in my lifetime, but so far, this series is so much better.

This is one of the better issues thus far in the series. Nick Spencer is setting up a new conflicts and villains so there isn't much happening here but, the suspense will get you to turn each page. I'm not a fan of Ramos's art but, that definitely does not stop me from reading.

Spidey gets his first peek at a dangerous resurgence of the Thieves' Guild. This issue takes its sweet time setting up the game board; the good news is, this particular game looks ideal for Spider-Man. Sound art and dialogue keep the reading experience fun and the promise of the story to come is huge.

The art was great and for the first issue in the story, it Deff sparks my interests. We get a new villain(s) who seems like will give Petey a run for his money. Though if all the hero’s stuff is disappearing, so shouldn’t the other villains stuff be stolen as well?...

I'm not wild about the lackluster art, but the story is promising. I'm especially intrigued to see how Spiderman truly factors into this universe-spanning plot.
