Ribic is known for his widescreen, epic work, but he showcases his gift for motion in a sequence where Wolverine, Armor, and Emma Frost try to take out Emma Frost. But Aliens vs. Avengers #4 isn't just fisticuffs, and it features some classic Hickman philosophical underpinnings about life in a universe whose creators hate it. What a blast. As a huge fan of both franchises, this was so special to me. Hickman is one of my absolute favourite writers. He is on such a roll at the moment. The door is open for a sequel, make it so.

Plot Mr. Sinister managed to carry out his plan. One of his clones was inoculated by a Facehugger, and from there a superior alien emerged, a sort of queen—red in color. This queen is like the highest evolution of the xenomorphs, with Mr. Sinister's characteristic rhombus on her forehead. It turns out she's the deadliest alien. Her first step is to eliminate all the clones. Then she goes after the Avengers and X-Men. Her goal is to control the entire planet Mars. Emma Frost, Manifold, Wolverine, Stark, Miles Morales, and Captain Marvel face this new insurgence of xenomorphs, and when they're about to lose, Black Panther and his son arrive with what remains of the galactic empire of Wakanda. But the plan mutates when Peter gave part of his Venom sympathy to Tony Stark, and he fused with the Red Xenomorph and controlled all those monsters on Mars. Black Panther, Emma Frost, Manifold, Wolverine, Stark/Venom, and Miles Morales prepare an attack on all the Xenomorph settlements the Engineers liberated across the galaxy. This mind-blowing crossover closes with a dizzying narrative, drama, and terror. My final thoughts of this mini series is: "This has to continue, this can't be the end". And this is kind of what you want after reading a series. I can't imagen not having this series in my PC. Some remarks: - They've took to much time between issues - This easily could've been an 15 issue series

Yes, it was a rushed finale. No doubt about that. This story deserved at least 3 additional issues to flesh things out more and tie them up properly. Hickman did an admirable job here, but it does leave you wanting more. Let's hope we get a follow up arc in the future, although that "The End" on the last page doesn't offer much hope for that. Overall, this was a surprisingly good crossover that I didn't know I needed but am glad we got. I'll always read anything Hickman and Ribic put out and they've got another winner on their hands with this one.

It was good but man do we need a 12 issue series to really make the story work. Still I enjoyed it and Hickman's ideas with Ribic's art are always a winner. Those Venom and Sinister Alien hybrids were a chef's kiss!

Very good, but it could have used one or two more issues to fully develop the universe. You can feel that some plot threads and character arcs were rushed or cut short.

The reason why this score is not as high is because it feels very rushed and the ending was underwhelming. But it was still a solid series overall. It's nice to see Esad Ribic's art again
