The issue spins a visually sharp, thematically rich but often exhausting yarn, with standout moments tangled in webby repetition. Buyer beware: there's plenty to chew on if you value mood and world-building, but don't expect a pulse-racing, twist-packed thrill ride. Plot Rook, Dire Wolf, and Matterhorn reach the Better-World Corporation's power base, the location Wildfire Grid indicated as Bloodhound's last known whereabouts. This place, situated in a frigid zone, is abandoned, and they have to rappel down into its depths. Rook's birds are agitated by the presence of cobwebs. Rook's connection with his birds and with the pigs of the deceased Ursaw is harmonious and empathetic. Bloodhound attacks his daughter, Dire Wolf, with disproportionate aggression; he doesn't recognize her. Matterhorn stops Bloodhound, who runs away, heading for a massive spider nest that forces them all to retreat. Suddenly, another Warden appears with katanas, ready to kill Bloodhound. His name is Stag. This installmen t maintains the powerful narrative pace that blends this post-apocalyptic future, which is repeated in new settings, mixing the science fiction and monster genres. It's one of the best comics of the moment. Art Jason Fabok delivers his incredibly detailed art, where everything makes sense. He recreates new worlds with futuristic technology, making them believable. Each page is mesmerizing and sends shivers down your spine. He plays with the scale of this entire world with a cinematic vision. He manages to illustrate stunning and mesmerizing splash pages, supported by Brad Anderson's perfectly chosen colors. Another great issue. I love the look of the stag warden with the red helmet. The goat warden is cool, too. The introduction of warden after warden, each with its own unique design. This story is finite, however. I hope it doesn't start to drag like Void Rivals. That one really needs to end. I like the book a lot. My only really issue is with that’s it pretty padded storytellling. This is a cool issue for visuals in which almost nothing happens.
