This continues to be such a fun, meaningful series. The layered backstories of the farmers on Exodus, coupled with the animals they now control and bond with is a story that a new generation of comics books fans has been clamoring for. It mirrors the world we live in and how harmony with the land and the animals might be the utopia the characters in the book and the readers both crave in their lives – whether it be on the page or in real life. Johns has had a very solid sense of execution about the series thats worked  quite well over the course of the series thus far. The prinal nature of a war between animals has real potential to feel almost mythic in its iintensity. As it is, Johns seems to be smending way too much time on interpersonal politics to really grab that opotential and make it work for him, bt as it is, its a really funsseries that continues to have a great deal of momentum as it moves towards the end of its next major plto arc. ROOK: EXODUS #7 is a master class in comic book visuals. Every page demands a double-take. But as a relaunch after a lengthy pause, it's content to idle in recap mode, teasing at future greatness without ever hitting the gas. Plot The comic includes a complete summary of what happens in the first volume, perfect for refreshing readers' memories and also serving as an entry point for new readers. This new story arc picks up where we left off almost a year ago, with Rook, Dire Wolf, and Carapace searching for Bloodhound, the warden who controls the wild dogs and who turns out to be Dire Wolf's father. But Bloodhound has gone insane due to prolonged use of the helmet and is now a feral creature, yet his engineering knowledge could be the last hope for fixing the Exodus World Engine. Rook and Dire Wolf have separated their efforts. Rook will continue recruiting wardens from other areas, such as the one who controls the goats. Since Carapace controls the Wi ldfire Grid, they can all communicate and thus unite their forces. Dire Wolf encounters her father, who is out of control and doesn't recognize her, but an explosion saves Dire Wolf from her father's attack; this was done by Arachnid, a warden seeking revenge. The opening sequence shows Bloodhound confronting the deer warden, and it's spectacular. This new arc maintains the powerful narrative pace that blends this post-apocalyptic future, exploring new horizons, mixing the science fiction genre with the monster genre. It's one of the best comics out there. Art Jason Fabok delivers his highly detailed art, where everything makes sense, recreating new worlds with futuristic technology, making it believable. Every page is captivating and spine-tingling; he plays with the scale of this entire world with a cinematic vision. He manages to illustrate stunning and mesmerizing splash pages, perfectly complemented by Brad Anderson's colors. Summary Rook, Dire Wolf, and Carapace try to save Exodus with the help of new Wardens, but these helmets have severely affected their users. more
