This is a seriously crazy issue. Even if Ambush Bug's narration does drone on at times, the humor works and despite the number if irons in the fire including governments coming after Waller, Rick Flag putting together his own team, the machinations of Talon, and now Peacemaker unleashed, Suicide Squad #8 works as a good start for new readers and a nice summary to catch the rest of us up on everything the current volume of the title has going. There are so many points of tension in this title that could be the tipping point for a crisis. The ensemble cast is only growing and we can expect the tension to build over the coming issues, so I'm eager to see how this team of characters will handle it, but I have every faith in this skilled creative team to pull off something incredible. While I continue to love the art and the characters involved with our main Suicide Squad, the all over the place nature of the storytelling and the goofy way of telling and recapping the previous story through Ambush Bug leave me wanting simpler stories because at the beginning of this series it was one of my favorite books and over the last couple of months it just feels like it's falling into silly territory. Im sorry but this series is awesome. It is absolutely Bat$#!+ insane and I love every second of it. The obscure characters, the snappy and quick pacing, the lively dialogue, and the awesome art. This is great SS storytelling here. I'm not gonna tell you a whole lot about the issue other than the Suicide Squad goes to Hell. Yes, that Hell. Ambush Bug is here to lead the narration through and makes a strong case for being the REAL Deadpool of the DCU. This book never stops to take a breather , and so is never boring, but it handles itself well enough to not overload you. Rock solid series.

Absolutely loving this book. Eduardo Pansica is becoming one of my favorite artists at DC right now. I need a Ambush Bug ongoing written by Robbie Thompson asap!!!

This was better than last issue, and there are some genuinely interesting ideas at play here. Hopefully Ambush Bug doesn't stick around though.

The characters are still well-written but this is a let-down after last issue. Having all the dead ex-Squad members brought back to Waller ruins one of the best things about the Squad: having disposable c-list villains. On the plus side, the Swamp Thing mission is finally over and it looks like Flag is trying to recruit Peacemaker. Now that is the story I'm excited to read!
