In Scarecrow's defense, they were annoying as hell. Don't think it's lower than beating the crap out of mentally ill people.
Nightwing #53

Nightwing was shot in the head...and now, only Grayson remains, caught in the clutches of the Knight Terrors! As the group of vigilantes take on the persona and mantle of Nightwing, he is forced to ante up his hand when one of his close friends is murdered... Will he cast his lot with his old super hero friends to take down these rogues, or will he decide to embrace his "newfound" abilities and fight against those who have wronged him? The answer lies somewhere in the gray area, when an unexpected threat from Scarecrow changes the game.

Nov 21, 2018Every issue I keep looking for signs that things are going to revert to the Nightwing we're used to, but Nicizea and Lobdell keep convincing me that this new direction is worth exploring further. And in the process, Nightwing has become a much more fascinating and surprising comic. Read Full Review

GWW - Nick Friar
Nov 21, 2018He's in big trouble, too. Bea might be for that matter, too. Because it looks like Scarecrow is back, and the foreshadowing in Nightwing #50 insinuates he's hunting Nightwing. Though Ric might be able to avoid the fight if he chooses to, something says he won't in the end. Read Full Review

Nov 22, 2018I'm really enjoying the artwork inNightwing at the moment. It's giving me a very 90s vibe, along with a gritty cop movie vibe and I think it's perfect for the environment of Bludhaven. Read Full Review

Nov 21, 2018NIGHTWING #53 is a decent issue. While some of the plot points are a bit uninteresting, Dick Grayson's journey to find himself captivated my attention. Worth reading for the realistic artwork alone! Read Full Review

Nov 21, 2018This is a good book and more people should be reading it. My Nightwing hate aside, I think this is the Nightwing story worth telling and I can't wait to read more, despite it heading to a conclusion I'm genuinely dreading. This is also one of the prettiest books this week! Read Full Review

Nov 21, 2018I really enjoyed this issue. I had strategized to read some light hearted comics that I need to catch up on to help bounce back from the heaviness that I thought would come from this issue, but it was unnecessary. This issue is a lot of fun to read! Ric is becoming more likable, we get our first look at a new Nightwing, the artwork pops, and Scarecrow terrifies. These next two weeks will be hard while we wait for #54 to hit stands. Read Full Review

Nov 21, 2018Ric's budding relationship with his favorite bartender was a welcome addition considering we were getting to the point that if we received yet another "Dick Grayson brooding over the city" book, it might as well have been renamed Batman 2.0. Read Full Review

Dec 04, 2018This issuefeatures the artwork of Travis Moore and Patch Zircher. Zirchers work is consistentwith what Ive seen previously in ActionComics. Perhaps too consistent. In more than one scene, Sapienza looks morelike Superman in a Nightwing mask than another person. I think Nightwing is a different book, and callsfor a different artistic approach. But there is time for Zircher to work onthat. Read Full Review

Nov 21, 2018Nightwing continues to impress me with its status quo change and how the writers of this book are handling it. The art works great for the story that's being told and we're getting a whole new look at our main character now that he's come face to face with his alter ego. It's a lot of fun even if it's not the Nightwing you're used to and I totally recommend it to people who have been staying away from this because this is certainly the most interesting the title has been in a long time. Nov 26, 2018Nightwing #53 was the best issue of this new direction for this series thus far. Scott Lobdell and Fabian Nicieza did a much better job developing Ric Grayson and the new Nightwing's characters to be more fully realized than previous issues. Now that they are moving the Scarecrow sub-plot into the main story Lobdell and Nicieza should be able to make this new direction for Nightwing much stronger. Read Full Review

Nov 21, 2018Moore's and Zircher's artwork continue to delight, with dynamic action shots and wonderful panel work, but the colorful depiction of Bldhaven is the most lively thing about the issue. I want to know how this all ends, but it seems like the machination are still getting into gear. Read Full Review

Nov 24, 2018Nightwing #53 continues to improve on the current problem " aka: this isn't Nightwing " and introduces some interesting ideas. Unfortunately, what this issue really does is prove why it's important for publishers to actually plan their stories before jumping into them. This could have been a great story that actually featured Nightwing with strong supporting characters that are based on the new characters at play here " Ric and Sapienza " but instead, we're getting a rushed, mess of a story that has been inconsistent every step of the way " both in the script and visual presentation. Nov 21, 2018The art is the best part. Moore and Zircher do a solid job overall. This book does feel oft kilter these past few issues however. Hopefully somebody comes on and picks a better direction. It does feel like this book is lost at sea at the moment. Read Full Review
