Beyond The Panel - Jideobi Odunze

You never knew what you were truly in store for when it came to this girl, and it helped a lot with the surprise once it came time to reveal her origins. Naomi #6 brought her story full circle in a way that left you wanting more. You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff

The pulpy space adventure thats being delivered here really needs the kind of expressiveness that Campbell provides for it to feel right. It may have had its slow moments. I still get a feeling that there is a whole lot of plot ahead " everyone we have met has a history full of conflict and loose ends. Although there's still quite a bit to learn about Naomi, the full range of her powers, and finding a new role as a super-hero, the series ends with infinite possibilities. Thankfully, it doesn't appear we'll have to wait long as DC is apparently taking the Atomic Robo approach to Naomi and releasing her tales in separate mini-series. After being pushed as a series that just might change the DC Universe as we know it, I had high expectations and I'm sad to say, this book did not meet them. And thus concludes the first "season" of Naomi. Trade paperback and hardcover collection to follow. This title is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. The writing, at the surface, appears lightweight. I don't entirely mind, because so many books these days try to condense entire sci-fi novels into a few pages of overcrowded text. Naomi appears to be written from her perspective...that of a teen girl, thrown into this crazy world of aliens and super-powers. Everything isn't revealed on one page. As she learns, we learn. That's refreshing. The art is masterful. Jamal Campbell blasts light and color through the shadows. Characters are drawn (painted?) in a way that evokes manga but, due to shading, offers a level of authenticity t more

Weakest issue of the series. Wasn't bad but the conclusion really was too easy. Campbell is the MVP here ( has been since the beginning ). Naomi still is a great adittion to the DC universe and i hope we will see more of her soon

It's hard to follow. I don't mean the overall story, I mean each panel and the dialogue. It's choppy, hyperactive. It sounds like a 40 year old trying to write teenage dialogue. But it's like, like OMG!, so hard to follow. The art is fantastic, I really like it for the big splash pages as well as the little details like the reflections in Naomi's eyes. I didn't get why Naomi and Zumbado were having friendly, heart to heart, helpful tips conversation. Was he trying to turn her to the dark side?

"What was your name again?" Now that's what I call a satisfying conclusion. We had a proper buildup, introduction to the main characters, their backstories and their secrets. And now, we got a great ending to the first arc with a really good showdown with the "big and scary" villain and some sweet family moments. All that is given to us with a stellar artwork form Jamal Campbell. That man can draw. Can't wait to see Naomi join Young Justice. I'm ready to see more of what she can do.

I had high hopes for Naomi. She's a decent new character with a ton of potential going forward. Unfortunately, this series turned out to be a mediocre slog to get through. It's also unfortunate that many of the complaints cited in previous issues apply in this instance as well. Naomi's biggest problem is that the series is a One-Short or a 64-page graphic novel stretched into a 6-part mini-series. This may not be a problem for you but reading this series in a serialized format was painful for me. Naomi #6 follows her as she encounters Zumado, an entity from her homeworld.
