Green Lantern #5 is a perfect example of a creative team complementing each other and delivering a fantastic end product for the reader. The story is a rollercoaster ride filled with action, inspiring heroics and an uplifting message that resonates. Sinestro is back, but this time the games is going to be a little different, but we know that Hal will rise above once again. Green Lantern #5 is a "how to balance character, story and action. Not only does it focus on character, it get the character parts right. These characters feel like the characters they are supposed to be, and that's not something that's happening enough in comics today. Adams had a great run on The Flash and after escaping the distraction of Knight Terrors, it's really coming together in Green Lantern, as well. Read Full Review

Green Lantern #5 moves at Mach 10 and provides an extra piece to the puzzle while still leaving a few tidbits to be desired. Hal's ring appears to be upgraded while Sinestro's motive becomes a bit more clear. The action itself is effective and Hal figuring out how to use his ring more has some nice moments to it as it feels like he's gaining a new confidence while still being careful of what he can do with it. It's not bad but it doesn't feel like things are as tight as they should be in the storytelling department. Read Full Review

So this issue might be the best Adam Green Lantern story yet. This really shows the might of Hal Jordan. Like if series was a movie, this was the climax of that movie and it was amazing. This felt great, everything was on the table and Hal rose to the occasion. It just feels like an adrenaline rush this issue. Loved almost every page. Good stuff. Art was great. Back up story though... like the plot itself isnt bad. A bit weak for Tomasi but still okish. The art though is clearly meant for a kids book and this doesnt mesh with the main story at all. The art is all wrong for this book. Really this is the biggest problem with this issue but its a backup so I mostly disregard this. Shame on the art though.

This was my favorite issue of Adams's run yet. I really liked the use of Hal's powers in this one. I thought the way Hal's ring was able to counter the cloaking device was really interesting, and I also really enjoyed the way he simultaneously destroyed the two ships in completely different locations with two different constructs. Good stuff all around when it comes to the main story. When it comes to the backup story, I feel very similarly to how I felt with it in the last issue. It's fairly solid, but it's not yet doing much to convince me to read the new Sinister Sons book it's leading into, unfortunately.

There was a lot to like in this issue. It was the best GL Jeremy's written so far. I think he needs to delve into how rings work in his universe because it's outside the norm of what we are all used to. Hal being able to call on the entire spectrum and Sinestro's yellow ring being able to be charged with Red energy. I'm not against it, I just need more info.
