I cant do it Merlyn. As soon as I see Future State I'm not interested. You're far more patient with this. It's funny as if right now the critic and user reviews are almost the same for this when usually the critic ones are much higher.

The event that was DC Future State continues in its own ongoing title starring the Bat-Family, beginning with the epic story "Hunt the Batman." Disaster strikes Gotham City, and all evidence points to the Next Batman! Red Hood must choose justice over his family and allies when the corrupt Magistrate enlists him to bring in the new Batman dead or alive! Featuring the entire cast from the popular Future State Batman titles, this new series kicks off the next chapter in this forbidding world of tomorrow, and does so in brilliant, monochromatic storytelling! This black-and-white series will showcase the brutal world that's around the corner in more

May 11, 2021Armed with the alternate timeline that is currently being straightened out in the past, as well as a daring aesthetic, what we ultimately get in Future State - Gotham #1 is a singular superhero comic, well-done in all regards. Read Full Review

May 17, 2021I enjoyed City of Bane, Joker War, and Future State. And now the prequel to Future State, but how can we "catch up" if the Future keeps coming at us. Ponder that as you read this comic. Is it good? Yeah"but it should have been in Black and White where it belongs. Read Full Review

May 12, 2021Future State: Gotham #1 is a nice start to the return to the future. It's a world and story that I wanted to see more of. While it doesn't have the colorful pop of its basis, it brings something new and different as well. It digs its roots into the manga that clearly influenced the previous stories and does it well. Here's hoping we can get more than this one series exploring this world, there's that much to dive in to. Read Full Review

May 11, 2021The story is relatively straightforward for most of it, and Jason is a little too much of a generic action hero, but it's a pretty solid sequel to the Future State status quo"even if it's barely scratching the surface. Read Full Review

May 11, 2021The use of black and white in both stories gives a nice cohesion to the issue. The A story uses a minimalist design, while the B story is filled with tight, detailed drawings. Both styles are fun to look at and capture the tone of their individual tales. Read Full Review

May 12, 2021Spinning out of the Gotham titles of the Future State initiative at the beginning of this year, Future State: Gotham #1 provides a massive narrative hook as an unknown villain blows an enormous bat-crater into the city. Williamson, Culver, and Milonogiannis provide a dark, enjoyable look at the next chapter of the possible future of our favorite characters. Read Full Review

May 12, 2021Future State: Gotham #1 is a comic book that no one really asked for, but between the writers' solid grasp on Jason Todd and their willingness to go (a little) outside the box with him along with the unexpected approach to the book's art, it manages to land as a solid read. May 11, 2021If you have a craving for more Future State Gotham, I guess this book is for you. I enjoyed the manga-like presentation, but mostly I was bored. Nothing here made me glad to revisit an event that I already left behind, no matter how hard DC tries to make me. Read Full Review

May 12, 2021This is a fine book. It didn't excite me as much as I hoped it did, there was a lot of setup and not a lot of payoff (I know it's issue #1, but there's still such a thing as too much setup at once), and it really requires you to have read other Future State books before this.
