Yes indeed it is something that I comment and that makes me uncomfortable, I feel that Zdarsky is going on the side of the reckless robin, the murderous Jason, when I have the question of WHO KILLER? since we know that Hood has not done it for a long time and had good deals in the Batclan, so I generated my question to the writer and another person also asked what they based on so that Hood was defeated by Grifter but Matt came out in defense,

This issue is a puzzling oddity. Tom King for me has been hit or miss and he's written things I've really loved but this...is bad. Bad in a confusing way. How did it get this bad? Is it bad on purpose? Could no editors have found a way to improve it? Who knows? The main problem is the meat and potatoes of the book: Characterization. Captain Atom is being butchered here the most egregiously but eve more

The Other History of the DC Universe #5
Being a superhero runs in Anissa Pierce's family. It's been a part of her life in one way or another since her father, Jefferson Pierce, first started to fight crime as Black Lightning. The Other History of the DC Universe (2020)
Academy Award-winning screenwriter John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, Let It Fall) examines the mythology of the DC Universe in this compelling new miniseries that reframes iconic moments of DC history and charts a previously unexplored sociopolitical thread as seen through the prism of DC Super Heroes who come from traditionally disenfranchised groups...
This issue is the worst in Taylor's run so far and this is from someone who's been loving it up until this point. The run has been great but The creation of Melinda Zucco is such a bad decision and is as harmful to the mythos of Nightwing as the stone from injustice. I honestly don't know how anyone could read this issue without feeling utterly disappointed. Dick is barely in the comic and it's en more
Nightwing #82
Melinda Zucco's connection to the man who killed Dick Grayson's parents wasn't a surprise to the Blüdhaven hero, but what the former Robin discovers about Melinda's ties to the Flying Graysons leaves the usually upbeat detective speechless.
This issue has been the best yet. I really appreciate that the characters drive the story instead of the story driving the characters. This is certainly the best book involving the batfamily and giving those characters some fanservice. The fanservice does go a little overboard at times like when Dicks says Tim might be the best Robin. It's just such an incorrect statement and seems more like somet more
Nightwing #80
Dick Grayson's always had a big heart. From protecting those persecuted by bullies in his youth, to combating evil alongside Batman as Robin, to pledging his newly inherited wealth to enriching Blüdhaven as Nightwing-his kindness and generosity have always guided his life. But now a new villain stalks the back alleys of Blüdhaven, removing the he...
Eh, I'm going to "break ranks" with my fellow Red Hood fans here and say this issue seemed like it was stalling. Not a lot going on and the fact that half-way in they switched Barrows' great art with an uglier one cements my belief that this issue was treading water. Also, Zdarsky's pro-drugs approach to the point of Batman saying they're not going to attack "addicts" who otherwise were selling th more
Batman: Urban Legends #3
The mystery around Cole Cash and HALO deepens as Batman takes a more active role investigating the man known as Grifter. But other villains in Gotham have begun to notice what Grifter is up to, and they're about to attempt an assassination! How long can the unlikely team-up between this Dynamic Duo last?

I was also reading the DC will try to make future state the actual direction of the publisher. It could just be empty headed blather though. Help me out here was future state that popular for DC? I saw the racks full of FS books not moving. I certainly sat it out waiting for the real continuity to return.
It is sad that in the great crisis in DC far from making a good plan they are only sinking the ship. I hope this is not the end of the publisher, as they have two of my favorite characters in their stories.
I really want to like this book but I can't. It moves along at a snails pace and still not a lot happened this issue. A lot of the comic is spent in flashback and the things that actually happen aren't exactly interesting. Characterization for Jason is inconsistent but that's expected from an inconsistent character. At least the art is nice to look at. This issue is inoffensive but far from intere more

Future State (2021)
In a bold move that rocks Gotham City, the Magistrate has imprisoned Harley Quinn! The villain once known as the Scarecrow, now a pawn of the Magistrate, taps into Harley's knowledge of Gotham's villains and the Black Mask Gang for his own dark purposes. Crane and his bosses think they have Harley Quinn defeated and her spirit broken, but they are ...
Continuing future state feels pointless. This book is a holdover of something no one has interest in anymore. With that being said the best thing this book does is keep up a brisk pace. Not many things happen here making it feel like more of a teaser than a comic but at least it's quick. Having no colors completely ruins the cyberpunk esthetic. The batfamily already have poor characterization in t more
Future State: Gotham #1
The event that was DC Future State continues in its own ongoing title starring the Bat-Family, beginning with the epic story "Hunt the Batman." Disaster strikes Gotham City, and all evidence points to the Next Batman! Red Hood must choose justice over his family and allies when the corrupt Magistrate enlists him to bring in the new Batman dead or ...
Couldnt agree more. I have zero interest in Futre State or any build up towards it.
Nightwing #78
Nightwing is back-and his drive to keep Blüdhaven safe has never been stronger! But his adopted city has elected a new mayor with the last name Zucco. When Nightwing enlists Batgirl's help in investigating the politician bearing the same name as the man who murdered his parents, she unearths details that will shock and fundamentally change the her...
This book has good ideas but they aren't executed very well. The characters feel more natural than last issue but still the pacing and lack of build up hurts this book a lot.
Teen Titans Academy #2
The questions mount around the new school formed by the original New Teen Titans: What's going on with Billy Batson's access to the powers of Shazam, what dark secret is Raven's new pupil Dane hiding, and who's masquerading as the new Red X?
I'm enjoying the characterization for Gordon here and the conversations he shares with both Batman and Barbara are really great and well written if not just a bit long winded and drawn out. This book feels meaty and packed with content but seems to really drag at times. The story is getting a bit more complicated than it should be for something that should be more stripped down. I feel this book i more

Jim Gordon, facing his twilight years haunted by the madman, knows where to start the hunt, and he's been given the go-ahead to p...
This book is continuing in a really fun way. I appreciate how the tone varies from comedic to dramatic and still manages to pull both off quite naturally. Thor's comments were a bit on the noes though in a "you're supposed to hate this guy" sort of way. He was a bit cartoonish. Aside from that this is a great adventure for Diana. And of course the art is out of this world!
Wonder Woman #771
Wonder Woman's adventures through the Sphere of the Gods continue as she embarks on a quest with the cunning Ratashok to search for answers. Something is changing the rules of the Norse afterlife, and it's up to our hero to set things right. Now she must face warriors and beasts of mythic proportions, starting with the Nidhogg! The Joker (2021)
Following the events of Infinite Frontier #1, The Joker is the most wanted man in the world! But the Clown Prince of Crime is several steps ahead of law enforcement-and he's on the run overseas. James Gordon, facing retirement, realizes this is the manhunt of his life and the last piece of a storied career...but what mysterious and deadly forces ar...
Reviewing the Red hood story here. I feel like this is a case of changing your character to fit your story instead of the other way around. Jason is incredibly inconsistent with how we've seen him in the past and finds himself in a constant state of trying to be badass while also trying his best to make you feel sorry for him. It's kinda giving me whiplash. This is also just an incredibly on the n more

I'm loving how grounded and real this comic feels so far. Dick and Barbara have such great chemistry together. The art from Bruno Redondo is top notch and brings it above anything else coming out right now. For just a second issue this is really something special.
Nightwing #79
Dick Grayson has inherited Alfred's fortune, a puppy, and a whole lot of questions. Who is Mayor Zucco, and what is her relation to the man who murdered Dick's parents?
