Batman 112- "I believe in the new gotham city,. Nolans The Dark Knight- "I believe in Harvey Dent". Tynion isn't even pretending hes not plagiarizing better material any more. All this meh just so DC can have it's own Miles Morales Batman in 2022. Sorry Merlyn but you're way more patient with this Tynion drek than I am.

Sep 07, 2021"Fear State" is shaping up to be the most exciting Batman-line event in years, elevating an underrated and underused villain to A list status while setting the stage for a new Gotham to emerge from this latest trauma... for good or for ill. Clownhunter is constantly falling into these problematic situations, and this time could be the worst of all, at least for him. For me its great. Read Full Review

Sep 07, 2021Much of the cast is split around Gotham without too much to do this issue, but coming off the jam-packed Alpha issue, it's a good break that shows us just how much Gotham's fabric is collapsing in only a short time. Read Full Review

Sep 09, 2021Batman #112 marks the end of Tynion's set-up for the major event that will conclude his run on the title. The potential is there for this to be an all-time classic story, but it remains to be seen if Tynion can deliver. I'm hoping he can. Thomas' Clownhunter backup story shows some potential too. But it's an interesting beginning and I look forward to seeing where he's going with it. Read Full Review

Sep 08, 2021Batman #112 is a really solid start to “Fear State”. It amps up Scarecrow so he feels like a real threat to everyone. Tynion does is best to give us a new take on what we've seen before over and over. The visuals too give a slightly different take to what we've seen before. And, most importantly, it doesn't feel like a distraction from the direction the Batman titles are moving when it comes to “Future State” and a possible future Gotham. This is a great example of an event tying into the greater meta story. More of this please. Read Full Review

Sep 07, 2021Batman #112 is another highly consistent issue that adds more weight to the current storyline. Gotham City feels like a ticking time bomb now, with combustible elements ready to explode in a big way. I implore all readers to get on board for the Fear State arc, as all the early signs point towards it being something special. Read Full Review

Sep 11, 2021This issue is a bit too much of a retread of last week's Alpha issue, but there's still enough new story " and some continually amazing artwork "to make this issue worthwhile. Read Full Review

Sep 07, 2021In a lot of ways this felt like a retread of what Tynion has already established. Fear State is off to a slow start, but there's enough moving pieces that this should be the final prelude before the mini-event really gets going. Read Full Review

Sep 07, 2021Fans of James Tynion's run thus far will find a lot of enjoyment here. All of the new characters and seeds he's planted are slowly coming to fruition. Fear State holds a lot of promise for the Bat-titles, but the jury is still out on how game-changing this event will turn out to be. As it stands,Fear State is off to a steady start backed by brilliant art. Read Full Review

Sep 08, 2021Batman #112 works well as an extension for how Batman: Fear State Alpha #1 set-up the latest big event that is taking over Gotham City. This issue emphasizes how Batman is going to working from behind as Scarecrow and the Magistrate are several steps ahead of him. Which all sets a strong foundation for a Batman event that I am fully invested in from the beginning. Read Full Review

Sep 07, 2021After feeling let down by the Fear State Alpha issue, I was hoping Batman #112 would get me pumped up for this crossover event. It did not. The issue looked great, but Tynion gives readers more recap (and recap of recap) and meanders around a bit instead of much forward progression. I know it just started, but I have not enjoyed this start at all. Read Full Review

Sep 08, 2021James Tynion proves, once again, that he's not only the king of exposition but that he's the king of regurgitating exposition. This issue does nothing to move the needle and fails to deliver any excitement unless the final page does the trick for you. But even then, Peace Keeper X is nothing more than a copy of a copy, which is just an individual representation of a very tired idea. Jorge Jimenez's art is fantastic, but also completely wasted considering there's literally nothing for him to do here. I was excited for Fear State, but this first chapter was nothing more than a massive letdown. Oh, and skip the Clownhunter backup. Read Full Review
