With forces maneuvering, Kryptons last son hits readers with a very thought provoking issue. Aaron pens a tale of drive hidden behind the action. I absolutely (pun slightly intended) love how this part of the story is being woven. Having the perspectives avoid Superman's point-of-view let's us discover who he is along with everyone else and adds to his alienation of being alone on Earth. So I thought this was a solid issue. Not great. But we are still in world-building. Seeing Lois and Jimmy struggling is a nice way of trying to keep them recognizable. Sam Lane remains Sam Lane but that fear line was great. And the Lazarus Corp/Omega Men extremes being mirrors is another way of showing this is a dark Earth. And Sandoval is just crushing it. I just wish there was more Superman. Last issue was all Krypton. This mostly Lois. People will want to learn about this Superman. I need more. Read Full Review

The whole Absolute line is just (no pun intended) absolutely smashing it and Superman is the best book out of the 3 we already have. Character development abounds in this issue, a villain takes more prominence and we get the beginning of a budding friendship between Jimmy and Lois. Im excited to see where we go next (which if Im correct is back to Krypton!) This is a strong 4 out of 5. Just get rid of those nine panel grids! Read Full Review

I still think that Absolute Superman is the best of the bunch. The new issue is engaging. I like the approach Superman-book-with-little-superman-on-it for now. The art is still excellent.

This is a time when it feels like practically everyone feels helpless and hopeless beneath the wealthy elites whose boot is forever on our necks, and ever-increasing numbers of desperate people are looking at this as broken world as one that can only be cleansed with blood. The idea of a newly-arrived Superman (who can fairly be assumed to be as non-lethal as any other version) being seen as the savior of oppressed people whose only dream left is "I pray he will kill you all" introduces fascinating moral questions. Aaron & Sandoval are thus far wisely declining to take the traditional easy way out by simply having their protagonist give a big speech clarifying his position and offering easy answers to impossible questions, and I could not b e happier. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about this book, but four issues in it's really winning me over. more

Definitely my favorite issue so far. Even though Kal-El wasn't in the issue until the second half, he was so cool when he finally showed up. The focus on Lois was nice and well-written, also. I'm really happy with the way Aaron has handled her character thus far.

Everything in the Absolute universe is really awesome. I'm enjoying all of the titles. I'm normally not a huge fan of Superman, as I feel like he is just too overpowered, and that there aren't any good stories with him anymore. Que Jason Aaron, Rafa Sandoval, and the Absolute universe. This new take is out at the right time, and it really feels like the Superman I want to route for. Jason Aarons story is great, the art continues to SLAY, and I love the layout of this book. I like when we meet the characters that we know, and see how they are different in this universe. I'm looking forward to many more amazing issues! Absolute Superman is personally my favorite one out of the bunch. Jason Aaron, I would like to apologize to you for trash talking you during your last years in Marvel. Jason Aaron is a good writer, it just felt he was bored in Marvel since he wrote almost everything he wanted to write, and when he's with a fresh new slate he f*cking kills it.
