Forget anything Uncanny or X-Men at least for me...

I really was hoping this would be a long series that would last for me but no I think this issue turned me off for good. My biggest beef is the art changing so much, the artist in the beginning was superb I thought but now they keep changing too where it has no consistency at all.

So.. that was a pointless arc. The art was especially rough - Rogue's face was all over the place.

The characterization is spot-on, with authentic voices and engaging inner dialogues that capture the heart of the characters. The stunning artwork brings Rogue's emotions to life better than I've seen as of late, and the atmospheric details are breathtaking.

As excited as I was to get a story to fill in the blanks here, I think my expectations weren't as sky-high for this series before its release; but after reading the first issue I'm absolutely hooked. This first issue of Sentinels was impressive. As in the Infinity comic, Alex Paknadel captures Omega Red's voice and personality very well, and he does a good enough job setting up the Sentinel characters, even if it did take me a bit to differentiate between them all.
The world-building was well done too. Paknadel is pulling no punches when it comes to the darkness that is Greymalkin prison, This first issue of Sentinels was impressive. I was surprised by how good this was. I expected a typical empty calorie spinoff mini series but this actually had some nutrition. I enjoyed the individual unique team members, their dynamics, and how they were written. The art was quite good too. I hope this is given the chance to run for a while, there seems to be plenty of meat on the bone for this story.

I was a tad apprehensive when this title was first announced. It was probably the furthest from what I expected an early X-Men series to be about. I really didn't know what to expect going into this issue but after reading this a few times now, I can confidently say @alexpaknadel has produced one of the smartest stories of this young era.

This crossover was such a bad idea. Put the nail in the coffin for me with Uncanny. Also, this inconsistency with art has become really annoying. I feel like Marvel's greedy tactics are starting to really show so it's time for me to move on to something where I feel people don't make decisions based on just wanting to sell more comics. There really is no point in having 18 issues a year and having This crossover was such a bad idea. Put the nail in the coffin for me with Uncanny. This issue was so incredibly disappointing. The end of the Raid story arc was a terrible travesty that didn't have to be, but yet this entire issue sacrifices character for the sake of plot. The two teams have to be put at odds, and so that happens regardless of the events going on around them, and barely anyone besides Scott and Rogue say anything despite their own stakes in the events that are t This issue was so incredibly disappointing. This is one of the worst finales to a so-called "event" I have ever read. In the end, nothing happens or changes, the main character of Rogue acts weirdly out of character, and aside from a small number of decent character moments among the supporting cast, there was nothing of substance or note. I can't even make a longer review because there's just nothing to talk about.

I will admit, I came into this issue not really knowing what to expect from this story, what sort of things there were to tell about Rogue during her time in the Savage Land that we didn't get to see before, but I was thoroughly impressed with this story.

There are several sequences of action that are both brutal and beautiful as Omega Red makes the decision to avenge a terrible crime that his village tried to cover up.
