I have always felt that the X-Men stories capture the mythical nature of comics in a unique way, with their emphasis on god-like humans, and death and resurrection. This issue is an exciting contribution to X Lives and Deaths of Wolverine, and I look forward to following Logans interactions with time and other X-Men in following issues. Read Full Review

X Deaths Of Wolverine #1 takes an entirely different approach to things than X Lives, and its stronger for it. Much like HoX/PoX, itll be interesting to see how the two books play off each other. X Deaths of Wolverine #1 is a comic fuelled by nitrous. It travels at 100 miles an hour and if you dont hang on you can fall off and lose it. There is a lot of power to the story and Moira is a deeply investing character. She has a vulnerability now that makes the reader nervous, but the strength by the final page has us rooting for her. Perhaps the biggest problem with the issue is that the title may lead to some feeling misled. But anyone missing the Canadian should not worry for long. Read Full Review

After reading this maybe we should all stop hating on Hickman wrapping up HOX/POX, buy those books back (or get the trades) and re-read them. Interesting stuff in this issue...

This is the continuation of the legacy storyline which I loved. I think this was terrific and the lives and deaths books have a massive story feel similar to hox and pox

Nice opening salvo and the focus on Moira and Mystique although Moira in past few months seems way more ruthless than ever before. Inferno needed this followup. 💛

OK now this I can deal with but it is a weird setup to do it this way but I'll take it. Federico Vicentini does some great work here and he kills it with some excellent pages but some angles and body poses in certain panels need some work. I can't tell if Martin or Lima was better but colors in certain pages were better and I'll bet it was Martin.

Was not expecting X Deaths to basically function as a stealth Moira book, and while the plotting is a bit haphazard at times, I'm still along for the ride. I'm very curious about the technarch-looking Wolverine. Is this potential a Wolverine from one of Moira's past lives? Potentially life 6? I'm hoping we get a few more answers on the Logan end of things next issue.

I love the idea of *a* Moira book right now. I'm not sure yet if I love *this* Moira book. And the connection to X Lives is a little too opaque for me -- even though I loved how ambiguous that series started out. The script is very good for an action story. Moira's voice comes across distinct and natural. The pace feels faster than it really is; for a bonus-sized issue, this really speeds by. While I like the way the characters are drawn, I think the blocking could be a lot better. Some panels are great; others are confusing messes. Visually, the story could flow more smoothly -- and that would suit the way it's written.

I wasn't as into this as X Lives of Wolverine #1, but it's still good. Vicentini's interiors are solid and there are moments where his art really shines, though I don't know how well it fits as a whole with a book that seems to be a stealth one focused on Moira. Either way, it's far from bad. As for the story, I liked it. Yes, it's much more of a Moira book than a Wolverine book, but I still found it entertaining. I'm interested to see the larger connection between this miniseries and X Lives of Wolverine.

Wolverine doesn't show up until the last page. It's a bait and switch to slide in a book about Moira MacTaggert. Waste of money and doesn't make me want to waste my money on issue #2.
