Wolverine #45 takes its time but by the end, Wolverine is finally on Krakoa face-to-face with Sabretooth. While it isnt quite what was expected, it does leave on a promising note. After the first two issues, a big question regarding the "Sabretooth War" event was whether or not it could keep up its hyper-violent tone and quick pace. That answer turned out to be a resounding "no" as the cast has not only ballooned over the last two issues to include the Exiles but it has pulled back almost completely on its claim of being Wolverine's "most violent event." Plot Wolverine arrives to Krakoa to rescue Quentin, but getting to this place is dangerous because of all the Sentinels, on the other hand The Exiles also try to enter. Sabretooth uses Quentin's head to search for a treasure in Forge's laboratory that will be the ultimate weapon against Wolverine. Wolverine arrives but is controlled by Quentin's mental power that controls Sabretooth. This installment lowers the accelerated narrative pace and violence that came with it to show a little of Sabretooth's plan. Art It is very organic and full of textures which gives it a gloomy and very detailed tone. Summary Wolverine arrives at Krakoa while Sabretooth searches for the ultimate weapon to defeat him Rating 4 of 5

Last issue, I was glad to have a break from the violence that started this whole Sabretooth War, but this issue really made me wish that some of that violence would return as this issue continues to set pieces in place. There's nothing really eventful or exciting that takes place in this issue, it mostly just seems to promise more interesting things for next issue rather than doing anything here. Sabretooth is the main character in this issue, and while we do see the Exiles and Logan make appearances, the Exiles are left to accomplish nothing and Logan only appears at the end to set things up for the next issue. There's nothing of particular note that Sabretooth says or does with Kid Omega that hadn't been established previously, and I have noticed that is a particular flaw Percy has in writing his longer story arcs with villains: they tend to get repetitive and retread dialogue that has been used before. The art continues to be phenomenal and is probably the best thing about this issue. Let's hope next issue delivers on some actual plot. more

Uh oh, we're only midway through this storyline and I'm losing interest fast. I understand that Marvel wanted to make this a big deal with it being the final storyline of the series and Sabretooth being the villain, but I think this probably should have been a shorter story. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I also think this was the worst issue of Sabretooth War so far. It's not bad or anything, but I feel like it's beginning to drag on just for the sake of getting to Issue #50.
