I have loved this art throughout the past 4 years of this series, however, this issue seemed to get a bit more dark and beautiful. We don't just see scenes going from panel to panel. We see the story being told in creative ways that keep the story flowing. Read Full Review

The psychosis of Sabretooth is on full display in a compelling issue about his inner thoughts and psychology. The question is asked if he can be saved, and by the end, there is an answer. Juggling this and the table setting for the finale ends up making this an intriguing issue that's well worth checking out. Read Full Review

Overall, Sabretooth War has struggled with pacing issues. It has been hard to know what is important and what isnt without a clear voice guiding the narrative. Wolverine #49 leaves readers off where hopefully issue #50 will begin with Wolverine facing Sabretooth and Bad Seed. Hopefully, Benjamin Percy has something up his sleeve and can finish his run strong. The past few Wolverine events havent been the strongest despite being one of the longest-running series of this era. Read Full Review

Wolverine #49 sets the stage for the big climactic fight between Logan, Victor, Bad Seed and (presumably) Laura and the rest of X-Force on what's left of Krakoa. But it also gives one last reminder that, unlike Logan, Victor doesn't have any regrets for his past sins he relishes them. Read Full Review

Plot Bad Seed takes the Sentinel and attacks all the Sabretooths left on Orchis' ship and blows everything up and falls on the beach of Krakoa, where Wolverine awaits him with his ADAMANTIUM armor and the Muramasa saber, which is the only one that can hurt him. Sabretooth whose wounds cannot be healed. On the other hand, the remaining Sabretooth escapes the psychic trap that has him in a state of psychoanalysis. The final battle is about to begin, the Sabretooth War is about to be defined. Art It is very organic and full of textures which gives it a gloomy and very detailed tone. Summary Wolverine debuts a lethal armor and is ready to end this painfully bloody war

Probably the best "LaValle-headed" issue yet (See my review of the previous issue to get what I mean). Cypher trying to teach Sabretooth through empathy, just for it to not resonate in a meaningful way whatsoever was great and, as Psycamorean stated in their own review, perfectly in line with his character.

I liked the way this issue ties up the character beats from the Sabretooth miniseries that this story arc spun out from. Having Sabretooth essentially learn nothing is quite on brand for him. As for the plot, it's kind of meandering. Glad it's wrapping up.

I enjoyed the Sabretooth parts, the concept of therapy by reliving some of his deeds through the perspective of his victims was interesting. The rest was ok. I don't care for the art at all, but it doesn't detract from the story to me. Honestly, the whole event has been a slight let down. I expected it to be a bit more. Not that it's been bad, just not quite as grand or epic as I was hoping based on the first couple issues, especially that shocking scene with the message made of Daken's body parts.
