The Maker ended up in the Ultimate universe. Eddie, Dylan and Virus ended up in this other, currently undisclosed universe. I personally think it's the 2099 universe, since that would fit the futuristic setting and fit well with the tease at the end of the Venom 2099 one-shot from last year. But I could be completely off.

Comics: The Gathering - Nick Devonald
Aug 13, 2020One of the most exciting and revelatory issues in Cates’ entire run, an achievement in itself, this issue cannot be missed. The symbiote mythology is further explored and expanded on as more new questions are introduced. Virus and Codex are both exciting new characters. Parallel universes are always great fun and we’ve never come across a universe quite like this one. The art matches the frentic pace of the comic. Cates’ run on Venom is one of the most exciting things happening in comics at the moment and this is one of the best issues to date. Read Full Review

But Why Tho? - Aaron Phillips
Aug 12, 2020Overall, this energetic issue really grabbed onto me, and took me for one hell of a high powered ride. The art style, while different, is not without its merits as Gedeon gets to draw Venom with some excellent new abilities. This series continues to be as unpredictable as ever and Im excited to see what Cates has in store for us next. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Mike Eakins
Aug 13, 2020Here we are, another Venom issue down and another appearance of Knull and a visit to the Ultimate Universe. Im not too sure what to think about being in 1610 and if I like Eddie and Dylan in 1610, however, this is Donny Cates. He knows Venom and he knows how to tell a great Venom story and that is what this is. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - wolfcypher
Aug 12, 2020Two issues in and I already feel like this has more than made up for the lackluster “Venom Island” arc preceding it. This book's pros outweighed whatever personal cons I had with it, and even given those cons, they're more pet peeves than out-right detriments (well, I do feel like the art wasn't very polished, so I'll argue that as a genuine criticism). Venom Beyond has me excited again for Cates' Venom. Read Full Review

This issue was amazing, the story is skyrocketing and the art is amazing, Donny Cates killing it.

The art takes a bit to get used to, but it's great for action. I really enjoyed this issue, and the new concepts being introduced seem cool. I'm interested to see how Cates deals with Annie, especially after the second arc of this run.

So, this is surprising. Very surprising. Art isn't best for explanation scenes, but very great for fight scenes. A bit repetitive and slow on progress, but still a good issue.

Ive been reading venom since 2016 and besides the early ASM issues I never read much venom so the last page didnt really grab me but the whole issue was fun. I'm really curious if virus becomes just a plot device in this story or if his existence and identity will be a long term effect.

I liked this issue, not as much as the last one though. The art looks super rushed and it isn't as good as the other issues Gedeon has done. I'm also confused about the setting of this universe, I thought it was the Ultimate universe, but the characters look very different than the Ultimate Avengers. The ending is pretty cool set up though, and I'm still very much on board with this entire series, one of my favorite ongoings right now.

This continues to be a very book but the art wasn’t for me personally

I really hate alternate dimensions. But this is okay. For now.

The character work and the world-building in the script are terrific, but the plot is action-heavy and the art shift (though suitable for an AU adventure) doesn't thrill me.

Interesting use of characters and is getting more over the top in a good way, but the art in this issue is kind of bland. Learning more about symbiotes and how they work is cool, and there is a decent amount of action within.

Eh... ok I guess. Cates is putting himself in a corner (as he usually does) and I would LOVE to see him get out of it. SPOILER ALERT: He won't.
