Revisit one of the most transformative periods of Spider-Man history with some of the creators who made it happen! Spider-Man discovers one of the most valuable items the Kingpin, aka Wilson Fisk possesses – THE LEXICON. This directory of the Kingpin’s criminal enterprise could destroy the criminal landscape of New York City, and that’s Spider-Man’s goal when he takes it. But Fisk isn’t the only person who wants the Lexicon… Mr. Negative would love his competitor’s secret information, but so would Frank Castle, A.K.A. THE PUNISHER. Taking the Lexicon sure seemed like a good idea to make the city safer, but it’s painted the biggest target ever more

May 13, 2026Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #1 is a confident, energetic, continuity-rich return to one of Spider-Man’s most debated eras, but it does not feel like a museum tour. It feels like a live wire. Dan Slott brings the classic Peter Parker chaos and heart, Marcus To delivers crisp action and expressive storytelling, Alex Sinclair gives the world visual punch, Marcos Martin and Muntsa Vicente add stylish connective tissue, and Joe Caramagna keeps the whole machine snapping. This is a strong opening swing, packed with crime drama, character tension, humor, and that beautiful Parker curse where doing the right thing somehow creates ten new problems. In other words: Spider-Man, baby. WEPA! Read Full Review

May 13, 2026Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #1 is one of those rare comics with something for everyone. For established Spider-Fans, it’s a welcome retro story. For newcomers, it’s an good place to start reading. It’s only flaw is that some may find it overly familiar and repetitive of earlier stories. Despite that one issue, it is still a great read. May 13, 2026Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #1 delivers a confident return that feels welcoming to new readers while giving longtime fans plenty to enjoy. Dan Slott keeps things moving with a clear sense of direction, blending classic Spider-Man beats with new wrinkles that push Peter forward. The action is fun, the stakes are grounded, and the inclusion of Punisher adds real tension to Spider-Man’s moral code. It may lean on familiar elements, but it does so with energy and purpose, setting up a run that feels worth sticking with. Read Full Review

May 13, 2026I’m conflicted on this one because on the one hand, this is a good read. Slott and To capture a nice flavor for their Spider-Man and I’m sure this book will give readers some good stories in the future. However, the fact that it’s so blatantly an MCU cash-in ruins a lot of it for me. If you don’t mind that sort of thing or are coming from the MCU, then you’ll like this one. If you do, then it’s not something that’s going to appeal to you very much. Read Full Review

Reading this made me feel like 12 years old again, reading monthly Spidey comics (here in Finland), starting from BND. So yeah, nostalgia goggles made me enjoy this very much.
