I suspect that Predator vs. Spider-Man will read better in a collected volume rather than month to month. The pacing of this first chapter is a bit off, as are some of the character and story choices. However, it is still a solid start to a story that promises to capture the essence of both franchises. Predator vs. Spider-Man #1 ain't here to give you instant gratification. It's the first shot of tequila before the night turns into a movie you barely remember. It's laying down bricks for something that's about to get loud, bloody, and wild. When this thing finally pops off? Man, ain't nobody gonna be ready. Plot The comic begins during an extremely hot summer in New York City, where NYPD Detective Lapearl comes across the skinless corpses of several homeless people, all missing a body part as a sort of trophy. Peter Parker, disguised as a coroner, takes photos of the corpses to sell to JJ Jameson. In this version, Peter Parker is desperate for money and has weak morals. Before taking the photos to Jameson, Peter chases bank robbers, but has to stop to save a group of people. The robbers hide in a warehouse, where a Predator kills them and removes the skin from one of their faces for use. This is why this Predator is nicknamed SKINNER. Spider-Man arrives on the scene. Peter warns Jameson that they must reveal that there is a serial killer o n the loose. So many people using air conditioners, fans, and refrigerators causes the power grid to collapse, and there is a blackout in New York. As crime begins to spike and the subway stops, with MJ reading a script, SKINNER takes advantage of the situation to attack those cars full of trapped victims. Peter convinces Jameson to activate The Bugle's old manual printing press to distribute newspapers reporting on this serial "killer." Detective Lapearl discovers that the photos used are from her crime scene and is now on Peter's tail. The comic closes with Kraven arriving in New York on the trail of the Predator. Marvel's most dangerous hunter is jealous of the competition. A mind-blowing, ultraviolent, and dizzying first installment of this saga creates this epic crossover between these two. Artwork It is detailed, heavily influenced by 1990s comics, where body language is highly stylized and shadows are used to highlight the dynamism and a gloomy tone perfect for this comic full of suspense and terror. I love to be surprised at NCBD and this one got me! There has been a lot of predator mini series lately but none of them felt like the real deal. This one does and I'm predicting this one is here to stay. In 10 years from now, new predators comic fans will find their way to this predator series and love it as we do.

this was surprisingly a good issue that got my attention. The art here was really god, and I am very excited to see how the punisher will face against Spider-Man.

This is a decent start to the series, however, it is overpriced like most Marvel books. I'm glad they didn't miss the opportunity to put Kraven in the story. No series about Spider-Man and his antagonists has ever been so bloody... I've only read the first issue and I'm already wary of the good sense of this plot and the cross universes. Nevertheless, I'm interested, and I like how Marvel does it, good luck!
