Moon Knight #5 continues to impress with its moody atmosphere and strong character rebuilding of Marc Spectre. There is a great examination of why Marc does the things he does while also reflecting on the cost of his actions. This does not mean there isn't any action of course. The cliffhanger ending of the villain revealed sets up what I'm sure will be an interesting next issue. Read Full Review

This is the best issue yet, simply because it dives into the pathos of Moon Knight. It's really cool. Genuinely, Jed MacKay gets Moon Knight. I'm really happy with this one.

I love how this one was written I thouroghly enjoyed the story and both the self reflection and the way moon knight is tested. I'm really interested in what zodiac has planned. Once again the artwork is fantastic some of the panels when moon knight is in full costume look phenomenal! I think this was my favorite issue so far of an already fantastic run of moon knight

I love how Jed Mackay knows his shit and is respecting Moon Knight’s history. He’s managed to weeve Jason Aaron’s shitty Age of Khonsu as another conflict into Marc’s life beautifully. And can I say it’s only been 5 issues but Moon Knight’s getting some amazing additions into his rogues gallery: Hunter’s Moon is so cool (hope to see more from him) and Zodiac has got some Joker spice.

This really made me feel some things. I loved this. If the first 4 issues didn't convince you that MacKay has a clear grasp of Moon Knight, this one certainly will.

This was another really strong issue for this series. This issue was basically two halves going back and forth, with one being Marc's therapy session and the other being him investigating and trying to find Soldier. Luckily, both of these were great and very interesting. The therapy sections of this book have all been very well-written, and this was no exception. MacKay has really been exploring Marc's character deeply and effectively, which is also seen in the aforementioned second half. Learning Soldier used to work for Hydra was interesting and sets up an intriguing story for him later on. Plus, the twist of Terry being Zodiac was great and we have a good villain set up for the future of this run.

It's a pretty simple story and you might even call the villain reveal underwhelming. But this issue packs a major punch thanks to the deep character insight in Marc's therapy session. There's also fine storytelling craft in the way the session is tightly interlinked with the villain plot. Overall, this is a great payoff to what the title has built up so far.

As we inch ever closer to the debut of the TV show I have been keeping up with the Moon Knight comics and they're...alright. I won't say there's anything groundbreaking in them, certainly not in this issue, but they are lighter, more standard comic fare.
