Marauders#19 doesn't have any shocking revelations or major implications for the future of the series, but its charm lies in its simplicity and how it uses its lesser-focused characters. Great character-focused moments and memorable artistic moments keep the heavy ship that is Marauders afloat for another month as things are really paused more than they are concluded. A very satisfying, action-packed adventure for Captain Kate and crew! I especially enjoyed seeing the Morlocks wipe the floor with Verendi's Reavers. Glad to see Marauders rising back to it's pre-Kate resurrection quality.

Fun issue. Wish they had used non mutants instead of the Morlocks. Anyone would know that the Krakoans were involved in this. If they had called, say, the Heroes for Hire, there would have been some deniability.

The Marauders save Lowtown. Or, more accurately, they have Callisto call in some deep cut Morlocks to stomp Verendi's Reavers and save Lowtown. It's fine in a second-string action movie way. I suspect more and more that killing and resurrecting Kate Pryde was the end of Gerry Duggan's long-term plan for this title and he's just stringing it along piece-by-piece now. (Either that or his Next Big Thing has to come after the Hellfire Gala and he's just killing time until then.)

OK issue. It wraps up the current story arc in a somewhat satisfying way. Nothing to spectecular, but its enjoyable and does the job. Long time X-men readers will find something extra in this issue with all of the callbacks and whatnot.

Recognizing the citizens as kindred spirits, Callisto and members of the Morlocks defend the population while Kate and Bishop separately do their best to cripple Verendi’s means of destruction. With victory achieved, the folks of Low Town officially rename the area Mutietown as the Morlocks decide to stick a round. Marauders has been a consistently solid read since the get go. The entire creative team has been doing a solid job. It’s cool seeing the Morlocks get some more love. I wouldn’t mind seeing a few more characters officially join the Marauder crew though.
