No one said Victor von Doom's journey from villain to hero was going to be easy, but S.H.I.E.L.D.'s interference is likely to cause more than just an inconvenience before too long. My expectations going into this issue were high from where the last issue ended. While I was disappointed certain plot points were touched on more. I came out of the issue still enjoying it and look forward to seeing how Bendis handles both story lines. Once you make the decision to recast Victor Von Doom as a hero, the logical next step is to make Reed Richards the villain. The inverted dynamic is at the heart of this series' second story arc. Unfortunately, the book's lackadaisical pacing continues. Read Full Review

I find the character Victor Von Doom to be fasinating and enjoy seeing the layers of his personality come out under duress.

This is one of my favourite Marvel titles right now. I look forward to seeing Victor face of against Ultimate Reed, and his first meeting with Riri as well. The pace is slow, but I still find myself enjoying every issue.

A solid entry. I'm curious to see the rivalry of Reed and Doom turns out to be. Also I need to give credit to Maleev. His artwork is flawless and the coloring of Hollingsworth is a accompaniment.

For such praise from the Critic Reviewers their ratings didn't reflect that and rightfully so. Ironman-Doom's story path of redemption has been... unconvincing and the inconsistent pacing has been unpalatable. Still, this chapter was better than earlier ones and better than some of Marvel's big releases this week.

Doom gets embarrassingly worked by the Wizard, of all people, while other antagonists queue up for subsequent issues. The Sharon Carter character assassination started in the other Iron Man title continues here; Mr. Bendis simply doesn't care that Sharon is not Maria Hill and writes her as though she were. If you know your Doom history, this plot (particularly the flashback) is underwhelming. If you don't know your Doom history, the flashback is nigh-gibberish. That's a hell of a Catch-22. Final infamies: Alex Maleev makes most of the action look stiff and pens a heinously unrecognizable Ben Grimm in a college flashback.
