Between the character relationships and the methods Doom utilizes, Infamous Iron Man #7 gives polish to the overall narrative. It also sets up some new challenges that will test Doom's overly-efficient methods, as well as his commitment to being a hero. While stories about heroes becoming villains are nothing new, a character like Victor Von Doom requires a certain level of refinement. Alex Maleev and Matt Hollingsworth are doing an amazing job with the artwork. The collaboration between the two helps the overall feel of the story. Bits and Pieces:This is a slow burn that may become uninteresting and dull very soon. Just more of what we've seen previously with another huge cliffhanger. Why is Doom doing this? Well for whatever reason, he's doing a kick butt job at it. I loved the interaction with the mob and how everything went down. I also loved the interaction of the wrecking crew with the Thing. It's kinda cool seeing that Doom is kind of human and it will be awesome when Reed and Doom cross paths soon. Bendis and Maleev are doing great work here.

Picked it up today and was surprised that it was actually good. The artwork is not really what I'm into but technically it's good.

This comic does not have much action in it at all. Not that it is a bad thing, because I am a huge fan of slow build stories. This issue did not really further the story, but we got to see a great scene between The Thing and Victor. Even though I am not totally sure where this story will ultimately end up, I am really enjoying Doom's quest to be a good guy.

Wonder of wonders, Doom is starting to win Ben Grimm over, slightly, to the idea that he might be doing good. What is the Maker gonna say about that? This issue had some points against it: The pace is still terribly slow and the art can only be considered great with the huge caveat of "for Alex Maleev" appended to it. (Mr. Maleev just cannot deliver action in an exciting way.) I was won over by the great dialogue put into the Doom/Thing conversation, which felt extremely in-character for both parties. In fact, Ben was a treat throughout this issue. I love him in salty PI mode.

This is an interesting issue, but only that. It's pace is sloooow, and Victor is almost too humble to believe here...I mean, he is still Doom, right? I'm looking forward to the next issue, though, where it looks like Doom and Reed will face off.

Art is still good. Writing is actually pretty decent. I just can't get all the way behind a story about Doctor Doom apologizing, admitting shame, and caring about people other than himself. It just goes against who he is. Also, Bendis had to know that some writer would eventually come along and turn Doom back into the bad guy he is, right? So then why go down this road at all?
