Comics: The Gathering - Charles Martin

    Mar 25, 2020

Judged solely on the merits of its script, Immortal Hulk #33 might miss the brass ring. It would still, like every issue of this title, be extremely strong -- just less than perfect. It's a good thing for the readers that Al Ewing's solid words are combined with two superb servings of art by Paul Bennett, Nick Pitarra, and their skillful collaborators. The striking visuals give the speedy plot the (little) boost it needs to land dead center in the quality bullseye. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Christopher Landers

    Apr 01, 2020

Altogether, this was another slam dunk from the team of Immortal Hulk. This book only gets better the deeper into the story, and character Ewing digs. If youve been missing this title, you will no doubt regret it in the long run. This story will go down in history as one of the best Hulk runs of all time, and this issue is one of the greatest of the whole thing. Read Full Review

    Horror DNA - James Ferguson

    Apr 05, 2020

I had heard news of what the next phase of Immortal Hulk would deal with, but I had no idea how or when we'd see it play a part. I was so enthralled by this issue that it hit me as a complete (and very welcome) surprise. I cannot wait to see what's next for this downright terrifying comic book as it continues to stretch the boundaries of what this medium can do and what horror means in the Marvel Universe. Every time you think you have seen it all, this creative team tells you to wait. The best kind of horror is the kind which hits you out of nowhere, and this issue nailed every notable scene where it delivered. Immortal Hulk #33 will give you the chills, will satisfy your need for action, and keep you coming back for more with a stunning twist to a problem no one saw coming. Read Full Review

If youre a Hulk fan, you simply need this milestone issue regardless of what Im telling you. Its 750 issues of the HULK!! However, youll be ecstatic to find out that its a truly outstanding issue as well. If youve been religiously reading Ewings run, then youll be pleased to get the normal gnarly nature thats driven you to this series with all the answers youve been looking for as a nice bonus. And lastly, if youre searching for an opportunity to jump on board IMMORTAL HULK, this would be a fantastic issue to showcase what Ewing and Bennett have been dishing out since issue one. Everyone needs to take a look at number 750. This is a must buy. Whenever you can, go grab the floppy. Feel free to shoot me a message and let me know what you think! Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

    Mar 25, 2020

Hulk has been in good hands with Ewing and Bennett at the helm and they've done a great job celebrating the 750th milestone issue. As an extra-sized book, Marvel has successfully given readers more while dipping into character and big reveals. Hulk and the horrors that come with it continue to be grotesquely delicious. The Super Powered Fancast - Deron Generally

    Mar 25, 2020

Joe Bennett's art is always spectacular and I love how characters and action are blended seamlessly into the panel. Art, in my opinion, is subjective and I don't knock the creative team for trying something different with the mindscape sequence, but I didn't care for Nick Pitarra's work in this story. It was too cartoonish a distraction from the themes being explored in this story and took away from the mood of the narrative a lot. Read Full Review

I really enjoyed Immortal Hulk #32 and #33. Since I read both of them together in one sitting, this review will apply to both issues, but I will only post it on #33. Firstly, it's good to see the story picking back up again as we delve into the implicit destruction that Xenmu has been dishing out. One thing I would especially like to note about these two issues, is that the author seems to be once again evoking those feelings of horror, and gore, and I love it. It's good to see some of the visceral images that we know Bennett is capable of make a return to the book, those splash pages will be remembered. Also, the return of a certain Hulk, whom I will not reveal, was a welcome surprise and also steered the story in a direction I was not exp more

This will be the Hulk Comic I show my kids, but I will have to wait a little bit since its incredibly violent and gory in the best ways. Truly horrific. GORGEOUS Art and one of the few comics you hang on every word in each panel. This is what comics should be.

Savage Hulk gets loose (with a little mindscape help from Worldbreaker Hulk) and makes Living Hulk Sauce out of Xemnu. It's an action-heavy finale and it succeeds on all points thanks to solid scripting and truly world-class horror art. It's a visual feast -- but there are still plenty of intriguing plot and character developments to consider, too.

"Oh. That... is not normal" I think this is the best issue of the series so far and the competition is fierce. Great writing, great art, both in the mindscape sequence and beyond it. Simply put, it's amazing. Such a satisfying and rewarding conclusion.

Pretty weird conclusion for the arc... It's cool to see David references, but I dunno... Just like Betty said: "It's happened before". Not all that intestine and other internals out, but still... Visually it's great and everything, but the story was a total mess here. However finally, no more Roxxon (I hope). Everyone love this issue and I feel weird being the one, who didn't. I mean, 7/10 is still high enough, but 9.6 overall... Nah, seeing, that spikes are the part of the Green Scar's personality... And Xemnu's death is heartbreaking. The Minotaur might be dead as well. Rick is controlled by the Leader for some reason somehow. But that's fine, the next issues will clear that. By the way, the second artist was a bit bad imo. The proportion more
