Jan 29, 2020Simply astounding is this chapter of Immortal Hulk. This creative team went above and beyond to give us what war with the Hulks looks like. Taking on the world like this changed the game drastically. Public opinion matters, saving "people" matters, there being a city left standing when all is said and done matters. Weird Science Marvel Comics - Dispatchdcu
Jan 29, 2020If youve been following IMMORTAL HULK to date, you will love this issue. If youre interested in hopping into the series, this is a great issue to see what Joe Bennett is truly capable of and thus I would highly recommend snagging it, especially if youve been on the fence. However, this isnt the best issue to explain anything thats happening within the story, where weve been, or where were going. That said, I think its still a fantastic issue for long time Hulk fans, IMMORTAL HULK fans, and anyone interested in the series to simply dip their toe or get a taste of what this series is like. It doesn't progress the plot too much, but the issue creates for some interesting character beats, especially taking into consideration the political tension writer Al Ewing has been building with his last couple of issues. THE GOOD: -This was a perfect issue. -Joe Bennett's art is so phenomenal. -It's nice to see such a visually oriented series accentuated by such unique and compelling characters. -This is probably the best body horror comic ever produced. -This was really exhilarating issue. I didn't realize I had been holding my breath until it ended. -Dario Agger is such a great villain. -I was still surprised at how Agger managed to frame the Hulk, even though I knew it was coming. -I can't wait to see what happens next. THE BAD: -Nothing. Again, perfect issue.

The action began to ramp up in this issue as we see the Hulk take on one of the monsters, while also making sense of the Minotaur's plan. Also, we get to see more of Hulk's plan unfold through the eyes of his friends, Betty and Samson. There were some epic visuals, due to a fantastic job from artist Joe Benett, who always brings consistency and a presence of horror to the book. In the final panel, Ewing does a great job of setting up what is going to come in the next issue. 9/10.

Great as always. Just the way Ewing lays it out. One of my favorite reads every time! But it's Bennett's pencils along with Jose's inks and Mounts colors that make it as great as it is. The art team greatly delivers intimate moments along with ridiculous splash pages!

In a superb combination of retail monster-fighting and wholesale villain-scheming, the kaiju fight in Phoenix turns into a big win for Roxxon and the Minotaur. There are plenty of cool/scary/awesome/sad moments for our heroic characters in the middle of the action, but the themes -- the bigger picture -- belong to the villain. Combine outstanding long-term plotting with some insanely great monster art and you have yet another awesome issue.

It's pretty good. These issues 26-30 have not been my favourite, but they do lay the grownwork pretty well. I just want someting more, inpatient reader as I am. At first I thought Roxxon as the next antagonist would be a bit boring after #25, but I was wrong. These aren't masterpieces IMO, but still pretty good. And I still can't wait for #31. The Living Hulk is here.

Monsters tearing up a town is always fun and this was done well. I liked Hulks anger at always being in pain and only being used to absorb pain it was really interesting. Again Doc Samson is annoying as hell but thats his character so Ewing does a good job there. Our villain is fun and a formidable foe. My only complaint is this arc felt a little empty compared to all that's happened it needed more Hulk..

"Oh, Randolph. And you were doing so well" He really, really was. Another great issue, as always, but I can't help this feeling I have. Ever since Hulk and the crew took over the Shadow Base, I feel there's a bit of staleness creeping into the book. I'm not as excited about the new issue of Immortal Hulk as I used to be. I do hope it will pass. That was some awesome poker table by the way.
