Overall, this issue doesnt have a sour note. If youve been reading this book, you know this is what been building to for a while. Ewing definitely seems to be coming up on a milestone for the title, but he also appears to be nowhere near slowing down or running out of ideas. Immortal Hulk is horror at an epic scale. It's like the Universal monsters mixed with Godzilla fighting it out in radiation-fueled madness. Ewing takes the opportunity to elevate some of the lesser-known characters in his narrative while unleashing a monstrous battle between some of the biggest Gamma giants in comics today. While the issue doesnt progress the series any further, the comic was still a fun read that showcased this extremely talented art team led by the outstanding Joe Bennett. If youve been following along to this point, this reviewer would tell you to continue to pick this issue up. However, the series has felt like it has slowed down a bit too much as of late. Just a great read! Very enjoyable and intriguing developments on the story front and fantastic art by Bennett and Co on the art. The Hulk has never looked better....or worse!

THE GOOD: -This was a crazy issue, an awesome issue and a crazy awesome issue. -Jackie was a really good narrator for this issue. -Man, Joe Bennett is just finding his groove more and more with every issue. His art hasn't deteriorated like many artists on a long run, quite the opposite actually. -Rick Jones is such a weirdly wonderful character here. -The action was stellar here. -This is body horror at its finest. Not since The Fly have we seen such a perfect example of the genre. -I don't know how Al Ewing gets this stuff past Marvel with a T+ rating, but I congratulate him for it. -That last page was utterly terrifying. -I'm calling it. This is going down as the greatest Hulk run of all time. It's certai nly my favorite, thus far. THE BAD: -Okay, I cannot take Fortean seriously. Although that panel with his revealing all his rows of teeth was awesome, every other panel with him made me snicker. more

Hulk and friends get tore into the action at Shadow Base. Hulk's share of combat is absolutely over-the-top in terms of gore and body horror, but the part that REALLY captures my attention is the sneaky side-plot. Eventful, captivating, and it's got a high body count -- and yet, this is an "act 2" issue that may well fade when compared to the subsequent climax.

Great fight scene and the slower moments progress the story in a way that makes them just as show stopping as Hulk ripping off his face. A scene I will long remember!

This series was the first Hulk Series I ever read. Its been fantastic. The art. The characters. The story. Theres not much bad you can say at all.

"A dime-store version of me" Just when I thought the imagery in this book couldn't get any creepier I see the last page. Now I have to rethink my whole belief system. As for the story. I think it was a very smart move to show this issue from the perspective of Ms. McGee. She gives a fresh look at it, from an angle of a normal person. A person that is only able to stand by and watch the horrors and craziness that is happening around her. Yet she still manages to hold it together and tries to protect the scientists. Yeah, I like her. Also, the Robocop reference was a nice touch.
