Firing on all cylinders, the creative team delivers a granite, body blow of an issue that will one day sit as much aside true grit storytelling like Gotham Central, as much as it will co-exist with Garth Ennis' Punisher and Tom King's current Batman run. Chip Zdarsky seems to have upped the ante from where Charles Soule left the book, and he seems to have an entirely new course set up for the Murdock Crazy Train in mind. Zdarsky Daredevil story is almost a back to roots type tale. It also has a nice little mystery to it as well. It adds in Daredevil the superhero and Daredevil the lawyer combination quite well. Checchetto's art is very well done and I adore how he draws DD's costume with some great texture and lines while also keeping it simple. Read Full Review

Issue one ask the question of "is daredevil's heroic antics motivated by violence." Issue two ask "can you trust the devil?" Can fog believe Matt? can the defenders believe him? What about Matt himself? Who's the mystery person setting Daredevil up? I think it's sabertooth. GREAT ISSUE!

This was fantastic. I'm excited to see where Zdarsky takes this. The art is stunning and the writing is wonderful. I'm loving this series.

Very engaging story. Well done by Zdarsky. I feel like he produced an issue that's better than the first. Of course Checchetto and Gho are a nice complimentary art team that builds a fitting environment.

Daredevil is sure of his innocence, but most everybody else is doubtful. This develops the story well, making both Matt's certainty in his innocence and the ugly facts of the murder case against him compelling. Detective North emerges as a potent nemesis for Daredevil, as righteous as he is dangerous. And it all looks terrific. It's drawn so well that you run the risk of forgetting that it's drawn at all; that's seriously impressive visual storytelling.

"BANG" I always viewed Daredevil, at least while in a costume, as a guy who's always angry, about to explode. And this book just keeps me in that belief. In every panel, whether he fights or just talks to somebody he looks like the anger is boiling right beneath the surface. While we are on the subject of looks. Devil's new costume is amazing. It looks simple, "street-level", not some high-tech armor billionaire playboy would wear and has this ninja vibe to it. The wrapping on his hand and forearms is like a cherry on top. As for the story. Good writing and I can't help but wonder, maybe Matt really messed-up this time. No set-up, no bad guy behind it. Just a mistake of a rusty vigilante. Well, I'm sure the relentless detective No rth will give us the answer. more

THE GOOD: -Wow, this art is really great. It feels street level and the colors compliment it perfectly. -This storyline definitely pulls you in. -Somehow Mayor Fisk remains a good villain even if he has been seen in so many issues before this. -The characterization of Daredevil in this is great. -I like where Chip Zdarsky is taking this issue after the end of last issue. -The action sequences are fantastic. THE BAD: -I'm still not super interested in the transferred cop character. -I don't know why, but the end didn't pull me in that much. I can't really find a reason, but it just didn't. -I mean, I didn't like it as much as last issue.

Maybe the end didn't pull you in because the new cop was involved? I was actually surprised by how that scene ended. And I agree Fisk is good. When he put his hand on the cop's shoulder I think I got chills. Ok, that's enough rambling out of me.
