The ending of the issue lands on an exciting note, building excitement for the next issue. Sergio Davila's art brings this issue to life, making every set piece look exactly how it should. His art is eye-catching and it's particularly nice to see the X-Men in their civvies again for the first portion of the book. The art also does an exceptional job with the characters' facial expressions, always making them expressive so you know exactly what they're feeling. Read Full Review

At times certain characters, namely Cyclops and War Machine, look just a little off, but otherwise, the artwork is solid and especially stellar when a fight kicks into gear. I enjoyed almost every panel of this issue and only very minor concerns if I were to nitpick. I'm not going to because I just enjoyed this issue too much to think about the little things. Large cast of characters balanced very well, the core characters written likable, believable and engaging, good art and great start to a new arch that builds of previous. And we are back in space and I love the cosmic side of Marvel that is very lacking right now. Captain marvel snuck into being my favorite ongoing series about a year ago and still going strong. If you have any desire to like Captain Marvel, this is the run the get.

This is slow to get started, but dang, it has a lot of fun while it's revving up. The art is consistently great, and as expected for Kelly Thompson, the character work is delightful. It's not dramatic revelatory developments, it's just a constant stream of natural, lovable moments and interactions.

I liked this issue a lot. It was good to see a heterosexual relationship in comics. Rhodey and Carol's relationship is cute and their banter and playfulness are mostly good, though sometimes the dialogue feels wooden or contrived. Overall, it does play well. Though once he's gone, the estrogen takes over with only one male on the team. I wish she would mix up more. I understand that Hazmat has been on her team for a while, but she could have been swapped her out for a male character as she is not going to lend anything special in space. Also, I thought they were going to divide them up since they basically ignored Binary's SOS. I like where this is going, but it's a bit messy.
