If i have said once, I must have said it a million times, Captain Marvel under the writing of Kelly Thompson is consistently the best book Marvel are putting out, month in month out. Thompson continues on her winning streak with Carol and her world, giving us a tale that takes us to the furthest reaches of space, and up against one of the most terrifying alien races in the Marvel universe. I hope the ending is as polished as this issue was. Read Full Review

Captain Marvel #44 moves at a solid pace to keep the reader engaged. Tough decisions are made that are handled well with how Captain Marvel and X-Men react to them. Hopefully the next issue opens up more on what the Brood are truly after in their latest plot. Read Full Review

This series continues to be awesome each issue. Easily my favorite series in comics right now. (TMNT is also awesome and has been for years). Just start reading it if you aren't.

I picked this arc up as it ties in with the x-men book and I am really glad I did. First off I love the original binary story from the x-men books and love the mentions and the panels behind the title page. The team that has been assembled is really cool and I am really enjoying the writing style of the dialog. This has been a great arc so far

This reveal was really jarring. It felt like an immense jump-cut without going back to fill in the blank time. That's not something that should have waited until the following issue. I'm also getting tired of the all-female cast. After 44 issues, it's getting kinda old. At least let's have Rhodey in there with Gambit. Gambit as the only male feels off. Not to mention Kelly Thompson going off the rails on Twitter attacking fans for no reason. I hope she gets her head back on straight.

The prose is solid. The polish on the art comes up to a similar standard. There are good character moments, particularly in the middle. I'm still liking the big-picture story. (This is what my review looks like with the negatives clipped out.)
