    Comic Watch - Dustin Gebel

    May 22, 2024

Blood Hunt #2 continues to solidify the story as the seminal event of the post-Secret Wars Marvel landscape. From its tight stringing of continuity across modern stories to bombastic artwork and rapturous coloring, the issue makes the case for why events should come together. MacKay sells the premise primarily through character and shared histories while Larraz takes the notions and ratchets them to 12 through the next-level pencils. Gracia brings together all the various elements with a sense of coloring that borders on the majestic. Blood Hunt #2 is the absolute standard that the big two should be working towards with their events, and it's an absolute joy to see the House of Ideas understand and put their weight behind this team. Blood Hunt #2 showcases MacKay's and Larraz's talented partnership with another incredible issue. The pair demonstrate how fantastic of an event Blood Hunt is with solid character writing, artistic direction, and tonal balance. I am excited to see where the event goes next and the upcoming issues. MacKay and Larraz have given me a lot to sink my teeth into. Read Full Review

However, the bleak tone and lack of clear hope might be a turn-off for some readers. Grimdark atmosphere, intense action sequences, strong character development, and intriguing mystery are what hold this issue together well. Yet, its the bleak tone and lack of clear hope for the heroes that might cause some readers to jettison the series.  However, overall, Blood Hunt #2 is a suspenseful and action-packed chapter in a desperate fight for survival against a terrifying enemy. Pick it up if you enjoy dark superhero stories with high stakes and complex character dynamics. If you prefer a more lighthearted or hopeful narrative, you might want to pass on this one. The eternal darkness of the Marvel Comics Universe grows with another strong chapter. MacKay delves heavy into the action with the writing. Larraz, Gracia and Petit provide some high level battle panels before leaving readers with a huge parting moment. The story continues to impress as the violent night rages on. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Collier Jennings

    May 22, 2024

Blood Hunt #2 continues to balance the heroic and the horrific, as the Marvel Universe goes on the offensive against the vampiric threat. In true event storytelling form, the issue ends with a cliffhanger that while head-scratching at first, promises that the creative team is aiming for nothing less than the best with this miniseries. Blood Hunt #2 is a hell of a second issue that eases the fears the event would start with a bang and quickly wither. There's another great surprise here that feels like it comes out of nowhere in a good way. There's also some fantastic moments in battle that really show off how amazing the Avengers are. It's an event that feels like Marvel is at the top of its game again. Here's hoping it keeps up. Read Full Review

I'll give Issue #2 credit where it's due: it's not camped by the need to read all of the tie-in issues to understand what's happening. Hopefully that trend continues. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez

    May 23, 2024

Blood Hunt #2 gives Earth's mightiest heroes a moment to counterpunch the Bloodcoven's sneak attack and regroup. Pepe Larraz's art is amazing, and big things are happening, but MacKay's plot is too shallow to let any moment or character develop beyond a quick scene, so the issue comes off as wholly forgettable.
