Avengers #14 is how you do a tie-in book: it builds on the events of Blood Hunt while also telling its own standalone story. If you're reading Blood Hunt this is also worth picking up I'd love to see more of this team once the vampire invasion has passed. Read Full Review

I went into this issue without high hopes due to the fact that it's a tie-in to an event that I am not reading. However, excellent character work and fantastic visuals pulled me through and kept me entertained. I didn't care that I didn't know the whole story, it's just cool to see The Avengers tearing through vampires in fun and inventive ways! Plot This comic serves as support for the Blood Hunt event, where the Avengers fell under the attack of BloodCoven and Captain Marvel asks Captain America to assemble a new team that defends the planet from the attack of Vampires. Steve Rogers summons Hercules, Kate Bihop/Hawkeye, Quicksilver and Hazmat, who manage to mesh as a legal team and head out to find out about an organized group of vampires. This group are Vampires-Nazis, who are attacking with powerful weapons...like a Helicarrier, this team of Avengers faces an organized attack of Vampires. It's always great to see Rogers leading his team where he must balance his soldier skills with that of the hero and Avenger. This comic nourishes this terrifying event, where the Vam pires not only have a numerical advantage in their attacks, but also in weapons. Art It's textured and organic, with great large-scale action sequences. Summary Cap puts together a new lineup of Avengers to counter an attack by Nazi Vampires. Excellent delivery full of terror and powerful plot twists more

The art is a bit iffy and fine, but I like the story so far with Captain America leading his own Avengers to deal with Darkforce and Vampires.

With a whole new team, this book takes on a very different vibe than the first 14 issues. It's good, but different. I think MacKay has a great voice for Steve Rogers in particular.

Have you been enjoying Jed Mackay's Avengers? I have, and I think it's right up there with Bendis and Waid's Avengers. And I am curious on your thoughts on Blood Hunt as well, since I'm surprisingly enjoying this event

I've liked 95% of what I've read from MacKay, and that includes his Avengers and Blood Hunt, although his best work is definitely still his work on Moon Knight, imo.

I was really interested to see how this new team gelled together with the main team being featured in the main Blood Hunt miniseries. I think everyone here is written well, something MacKay is no stranger to doing, especially Steve. I think he has a really solid grasp on the character and I'm looking forward to seeing how things go with the next two issues. Additionally, I'm very glad to see Hercules and Kate on the roster as well. Neither of them have gotten super prominent roles recently, so this is a nice change, even if it's just during Blood Hunt.

Nice to have a break from the regular team and I actually found this team to be more fun compared to how flat the team feels in the MacKay's main story. Great to see Hazmat starting to show up more often as I was a big fan of Avengers Academy.

The dialogue and writing are unbelievably bad; the conversations between characters often feel forced and unnatural, to the point where it sometimes hurts the flow of the action. It’s hard to stay engaged when the writing is this poor. The story itself is mediocre at best. It lacks the depth and intrigue needed to pull readers in. The characters feel underdeveloped and one-dimensional, making it difficult to care about their fates or the outcome of the plot. Overall, this comic fails to captivate or entertain, leaving much to be desired.
