For a book called Amazing Spider-Man #13, this issue steadfastly avoids being either. The art deserves a portfolio, the writing deserves a GPS, and fans deserve something resembling Spider-Man, not Peter Parker playing cosmic camp counselor for a busload of alien B-listers. If Marvel wants to keep Spider-Man fans on board, its time to bring the wall-crawler home, or at the very least, explain how he wound up light-years from what made him amazing in the first place. Holy cow. I freaking LOVED this issue. Im a big fan of no kill rules in my superheroes. I think its a strong moral framework that separates them from other vigilantes. And despite the fact my favorite superhero Rocket is in this issue, and acts as an OPPONENT to that stance, this issue does a fantastic job of displaying why its such a strong stance to have. And Kelly, through Peter, words a fantastic argument for not killing. But even aside from that, Peter taking down Black Dwarf? When's the last time we've even seen the Cull Obsidian in a book? It was a very cool fight. Pepe Larraz is in his bag as usual. May he draw spidey for many issues to come. This issue had everything I want. This might be my favorite Spidey issue in YEA RS. Peter was so good here. This felt like an 80s space farer tale, a ton of fun, but with a beating(or as Rocket says, bleeding) heart. more

I’m one of those who think everything’s already been said and done with mainstream universe Spider-Man, so honestly, hats off; this version feels fresh, with genuinely original ideas. I’m actually even more interested in the cosmic side of the story than the earthbound one with Osborn.

This is just really good stuff. Sure, the overall pacing of the plot could be quicker, but I am liking everything this book has to offer. Especially the art, it is astonishing. But the writing here is also really good. Keep on Kelly, you have not let me down yet.

This issue cooked. This really could be what an "isekai" Spider-Man should be. Peter Parker being Peter Parker but in a different context. Let's keep this momentum going!

I was really looking forward to Peter's cosmic adventures. But while Pepe Larraz doesn't disappoint, the story is pretty trivial - which is kind of ironic, since one would expect outer space to provide opportunities galore for great ideas. Anyway, the opposite seems to be the case. All the mind-numbing, "funny" dialogue can't hide the fact that there's no inspiration behind this story arc.

This is 100% a filler arc and I’m not here for it. Call me when Pete’s back on earth. Hell the Norman spidey stuff is even way more interesting than this. I just…. Don’t care.
