I think it’s safe to say that this is perhaps the most important issue of Nick Spencer’s Amazing Spider-Man yet. The issues that I did have while reading weren’t necessarily with the single chapter by itself. This story continues raising the tension built by the previous arc, while finally giving us some long awaited answers and plot development. As for the reveal, that is the character that makes the most sense given all the information we have, but I was so certain it was a fake out, and maybe it still is. We'll see. As for the rest of the issue, I could not be more hyped. It's very dark, which is fitting, and Gleason's art is phenomenal. We get to see Stan Carter go, which honestly made me feel for the guy. And there is sooo much One More Day over everything in this issue. It's ridiculous and I just hope that Nick Spencer and Marvel editorial are actually going to pull the trigger and undo One More Day (which does not undo the secret identity so no worries there.). The events of this issue are definitely a major step in that direction. I'm very excited for this arc. It'll take me through the end of this horrible year, and I'm ready. more

Any little problems I had with the last issue are gone. The name truly fits, what an amazing Spider-Man issue. Everything with the art and the writing and what comes next? Oh boy.

This gets a 10 because everything worked in this issue. It was all about the reveal of Kindred and this issue built the suspense the entire time. Although it was a longer issue, I didn't think it was padded to fill space. I know many people were not surprised by the reveal but that's not bad. The clues leading up were enough to work it out like any good mystery. If it was another character just for the sake of telling people they were wrong would have been stupid. (Like the Gaunt reveal in the clone saga. They just pulled the robot master out of complete obscurity instead of following the clues leading up that it was suppose to be an Osborne.) Anyway, the reveal of Kindred is good. That particular character needed something like this do ne - alright fine SPOILER - Harry was needlessly brought back at the end of One More Day and has been a useless character ever since. Harry was interesting until his death in Spec 200 which was a good end for him. They brought him back in OMD but have done nothing interesting with him in nearly the 15 years since. So I'm excited that just maybe Harry Osborne will again get a story worth telling. more

I called it! This is gonna be real interesting. MAN this issue! Fantastic stuff. Norman... man.. some chilling scenes here. Fantastic panels with details and even symbolism. Very well written. Nick Spencer understands Spider-Man. He shows it in his writing. Really digging the art here. Some great visuals. Almost feel bad for Stan.

Yep, I guessed it right. Kindred is exactly who I thought he was, but that's ok as it makes perfect sense. The story is very thrilling and lots of things happen, so you will be glued to the pages considering that it's told in non-chronological order. Let's see what's next and what are Kindred's real motivations! (But is he really THAT GUY? Could this be a huge fakeout or red herring?)

I really liked this issue. Im glad we are finally getting somewhere with kindred and some of the scenes in here were just awesome. Cant wait to see what happens. Also gleason is a beast on the art. Hope he stays on for a while.

This is a really good Spider-Man story. But it's not great, and I have a clear idea of why. After 1000+ pages of build-up, the Kindred premise resolves into familiar characters airing familiar grievances. It's classic Spidey. Greatest hits Spidey. It's comfort food Spidey: Full of safe, well-known ingredients we love -- and free of anything daring, risky, or inventive. This is as good as you can make Spider-Man if you're too scared to tinker with the franchise's tried-and-true recipes.

I enjoyed it and was turning the pages in anticipation so Spencer did his job well there and Gleason delivered some tremendous detailed work (Even though his big headed Spidey in some panels has yet to grow on me but everything else is fantastic). But I can't help but feel underwhelmed at the end. I hope there is more to it than that, so we'll see. Two years in and Spencer has not delivered one arc that defines his run yet. It's good and had great moments in sporadic issues but I hope he can put together a full arc/story that resonates with me but maybe it's just me.
