SINISTER WAR PRELUDE!
The Sinister War turns Spidey's life upside-down, but the fact that KING'S RANSOM and CHAMELEON CONSPIRACY already did that, might give you an idea of how hard this is going to be for Peter Parker.

Its a slow start to the end of an era. Nick Spencer spends the issue putting so many pieces into play into the upcoming Sinister War, that the chessboard is full on every square. Unfortunately theres too much set up here, and while we know that the odds are going to be huge, you dont get the sense of that from reading the issue. Hopefully Spencer can pull this off, because itd be a huge disappointment to see this impressive run end on a whimper. Read Full Review

Vicentini delivers some great visuals throughout this issue. While the action to come is only teased at, the tone and style of the art makes me excited to see what Vicentini does when things really start to happen. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #70 sets the board forSinister War, continuing to pay off plot points from Nick Spencer's run while setting up a few new ones in the process. Next week beginsSinister War in full, which looks to serve as the grand conclusion to Spencer's three-and-a-half-year run on the title. Read Full Review

In Amazing Spider-Man #70, this volume's whole story shapes toward a villain-centric conclusion that seems likely to tie a neat bow on Nick Spencer's run. The action-oriented art is at odds with its focus on "big picture" plotting, but an excellent dose of ensemble characterization (giving the villains plenty of love) ensures that this stage-setting issue is still a satisfying read. Amazing Spider-Man #70 is exactly what is says on the cover " a prelude to the Sinister War. It's all setup establishing the major players and storylines being explored in the event. It's got the Sinister Six on full display, but it also sets up so many others that it feels like Sinister War could be overcrowded with characters. Not to mention, the comic tries to expand on a key mystery surrounding Kindred, though not the one people might think, that makes things more confusing for the character. Sinister War is looking to be fun and chaotic and hopefully it delivers on being an enjoyable story. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #70 did its job of setting the stage for the upcoming Sinister War. All the players are all given just enough time to build excitement for the latest Spider-Man event that we are about to get. Now that the scope of Sinister War is set-up hopefully Spencer's final big Spider-Man event can live up to the 70+ issues of development. Read Full Review

After the super disappointing Giant-Size issue, this brought me right back in. We immediately started converging major plot lines together, and answers were aplenty. The pace was quick, but not overwhelming, and I am so in. Please let this run end on a high note.

Fantastic setup for the sinister war! I'm really looking forward to it. I liked the artwork in this one too. There were a couple exceptional parts that really caught my eye and made me stop and really look at it. the image of Spider-Man above the city on the gargoyle head with birds around him was great I thought it really stood out

The players are finally set and we are finally getting some answers. So I must admit, this one is good. A great prelude for Sinister War and I am interested to see how Spencer will resolve it.

It makes my heart happy to read that The Amazing has gotten back on the right track, which is good because it was about to burn down the comic shop for the previous atrocities.

Finally we get this train back on track! Good prep work and set up with good art from a single artist: Vicentini with Nice Sinclair colors that flows well together. Why can't we have this instead of cramming crap together all these past issues? I'm actually looking forward to Spencer's last few issues.

Alright. We're back in business. After the "Ho-Hum" fest of the Chameleon conspiracy and disappointing revelation of King's Ransom I'm looking forward to an all-out Supervillain war with Spidey caught in the middle, all while Kindred is laughing and preparing for the endgame. It's good to see the return of some classic villains, like the real Electro and it should be good to see Doc Ock back in action as the supervillain he was meant to be and not the umpteenth person with a Spider themed identity. Sinister war seems to be one the readers are counting on to be a good one and a fitting penultimate story in Spencer's run. Let's hope it turns out to be just what we're expecting.

FINALLY a good issue. Jeez even if the art isn't that good at least I can tell this issue had a lot of effort in it. For once I am actually excited for sinister war and it has a lot of interesting plot threads lying around. I am not gonna hype too much, but let's hope sinister war is as good as sins rising

I think this is the expected comic of the week for many and I appreciate the improvement in this story. This installment is filling the spaces that had been reeling during the last numbers, Spider still has a long way to go and I think the next confrontation will be the decisive one. Now with the #DcVsMarvel rumbling on social media I don't think either of the two companies is the best, they only have their strengths and weaknesses, both are wonderful, I just feel that Marvel is handling the economic crises better and is giving good launches, no All of them, but we are not crammed with those inclusive moral lessons, unreasonably raising prices with not-so-good stories. The good news is that there is an increase in the purchase of c more

Questions are asked with answers, villains are gathered, small-term goals had been achieved. With only four (and more) issues left, Nick Spencer sets the stage for a final showdown. After so much of the run is spent cleaning up the ideas and messes left by those who came before, will Marvel allow Spider-Man to confront the publisher's arguably greatest sin involving the Wall Crawler?

I hope Spencer stopped playing, this number is not the quality to which we are accustomed, the art is not that good but we no longer find a little more development and a little more decent narrative.

What? My Spider-Sense is feeling some quality, finally! Yes, the issue is pretty good. No waste of time, the art is good once again and Kindred is back! Am I happy for The Sinister Six's 656487th return? Absolutely not, but it looks like we're finally getting the answers we were supposed to get after the "Last Remains" arc!

Spidey is yet again in the spectator seat as the author puts the finishing touches on the vast roster of villains queuing up for Sinister War. On the one hand, this feels like a great re-railment after a couple of blah story arcs, and the staging for the upcoming event looks good. On the other hand, I'm underwhelmed by the art and of course, there's the perennial "Passive Pete" problem.
