Yeah that sucks man. I wonder how many people are dropping the book because of these artist carousels they got going. I don't have a problem with ASM being 2, 3 or even weekly as long as you plan way in advance. It takes about a month to pencil, ink and color an issue give or take so either plan ahead or just go back to monthly and the problem is over.

Jul 28, 2021Spencer gives us another cliffhanger to end things on, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the pace, scale and emotional complexity of this event so far. This is certainly a solid enough issue to move things along, but perhaps lacks the punch of the bombastic event opener. Regardless, I'm still well and truly hooked, and not only is this event well and truly rekindling my love for Spider-Man in general, it's also making me want to pick up some of the older issues to fill in all the gaps. This comic is essentially Kindred's comic as he narrates throughout the entire issue while it shows things proceeding according to his plan. Pieces are moving into place as the villain's long con is finally paying off. It even elaborates on the relationship between Mysterio and Kindred a bit more, showing how far Kindred's manipulations go. Read Full Review

Aug 01, 2021Amazing Spider-Man #71 does very little to bring greater excitement for the Sinister War event. Instead, it is reminder of how Nick Spencer has too many sub-plots going on. This ends up causing Spencer to take certain sub-plots in directions that make them come across as filler content. With Sinister War set to be Spencer's final big Amazing Spider-Man story it is disappointing that we can't get a complete story in one comic book. Read Full Review

As far as I'm concerned this is a ton of payoff to so many of the mysteries set up in this run, so I don't really care about the artist switch up.

Story is good and engaging. Keeps you hooked up. But this Federico team up on art, it just didn't suit the ASM. Spidey, Harry, MJ and Carlie were drawn kinda childish. Change of Artwork in between the issue, it angers me. It baffles me that ASM, flagship book of most popular Marvel Character, Spider-Man, doesn't have same level of Art. Too many Artist. Ugh Marvel.

Speed was drastically reduced, not that we didn't love MJ, but it felt like hitting the brakes. However they still have not deviated from the topic.

Not a bad tie-in. I'm not too crazy about the second rate art, but the story was pretty good filler between Sinister war #s 1 and 2. It looks like long past events are tying into what's happening now. While Spider-Man's caught between a ton of supervillains we see what's happening with MJ and Mysterio. While not too thrilling as the mini-series it's tied in to, this issue was still a pretty good one.

The story is good and I'm all in trying to give Spencer the benefit of doubt to finish but damn man how many fricking artists it takes to have on these books. It takes me out of it the second I see it, I'm done and my interest is gone. Having ASM at 2 or 3 issues a month is stupid unless you plan way ahead and have scripts to artists months in advance. Give Federico Vicentini time...I can wait.

Great dialogues, great atmosphere... But the art is atrocious. Why is Bagley only doing covers? Where is Gleason? This is literally the climax of Spencer's run! Anyway, this would be a 9/10 issue if we hadn't already read "Last Remains", because it's the same exact story and topic. Hope the Kindred mystery is ending on a high note, I still trust you Spency!

Same sentiment as a lot of people here - two different artists creating a disjointed experience. I can do with just 1 issue of ASM a month. Marvel please stop milking your IP at the expense of your creators. You could be a little more mask-on with your capitalistic tendencies you know? The story was mostly fine but feels like a whole lot of nothing happened.

Mysterio passes MJ to Kindred after doing some (presumably) important continuity callbacks. The other key supporting cast members reflect on Harry Osborn's death in (presumably) significant ways. Even if I accept that Spidey's part of this event will be happening in the miniseries, I think this issue is pretty thin tea -- it's just last-minute stage-setting work. And at the risk of sounding like a broken record, the art quality on this title remains flagrantly unacceptable for a flagship comic.

I dropped all of the Spider-man books a number of years ago, but the "Sinister War" sounded interesting, so I've been picking it up, along with the Amazing Spider-Man tie-ins. The art in this Spider-man title is just absolutely awful. Are there no artists available who can actually draw something that doesn't look awful?
