Sep 26, 2019Absolute Carnage has been a roller coaster of terror. We're not strapped in with a secure harness; we're holding on for dear life and our grip is loosening with each twist and turn, ready to throw us into the abyss. The tail end of this issue provides a glimmer of hope with one of the best cliffhanger endings in recent memory. You know that moment in Evil Dead when Ash picks up the chainsaw? That's the feeling I got at the end of Absolute Carnage #3. We're in for some awesome shit. Read Full Review

Sep 24, 2019Absolute Carnage #3 does a fantastic job moving things forward to the next level. Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman continue to compliment each other well as they work together to make Absolute Carnage the biggest and best comic book event possible. They nail how terrifying of a villain Carnage is. In the process they are able to elevate both Venom and Spider-Man as they each approach the threat of Carnage in their own way. Read Full Review

Sep 19, 2019Is Absolute Carnage a perfect event? No, but few are. This issue isn’t even the best the series has been so far, but it does lay some important groundwork for where the series can go from here, not only from a plot and action level, but from a character level as well. There’s a feeling that if Cates can really stick the landing, there’s an extremely satisfying catharsis coming for Eddie Brock and a further upheaval of the role of symbiotes in the Marvel Universe. That feels like what this creative team has been aiming for with this entire run, and they’re clearly still on that path. Read Full Review

This is just so good. The art, the writing, everything. Amazing. Again, only bad thing about this is that it should be longer.

Prelude: Back to the main title! Woo! Been loving Cates' writing on.... pretty much anything I've reviewed and I've been loving Absolute Carnage too. This ought to be good...... (I'm still not over Superman #15 am I?) The Good: IMMORTAL VENOM HULK! Bit of a quieter issue this time around but it's more character focused. Really like the focus on Venom and Eddie and how they differ. Venom is getting real desperate right now. Art is great but come on, why wouldn't it? The Bad: Yeah, I'm blanking here. Conclusion: While it was a quieter chapter as you would expect at #3 of 5, Absolute Carnage still delivers. IMMORTAL VENOM HULK!

holy moly, this is just going insane in all the right ways. I absolutely love that this series can be read without any other tie ins to other series besides Venom, which is written by Cates. Once again, the relationship between Eddie and the symbiote is what really makes Cates's run on Venom and this series just amazing, it provides so much more character to Eddie that was desperately needed in the past decade. The art is as always amazing with Stegman at the helm, feels very horror like, which complements the tone of the book. also that ending, the next issue should have an amazing fight

I am loving this event. The interactions between Carnage and everyone else are great. Venoms internal conflict is interesting. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Still good but I feel like I'm missing something because the switcheroo was done weird.

THE GOOD: -This was a great issue I loved it. -The art was way better this time. I'm glad the atmosphere returned. -Damn Carnage Miles Morales was really well-designed. -I love the banter between Eddie and the symbiote. -There was a nice twist halfway through here that I found really effective. Also that page of Eddie smiling is juts terrifying. -Carnage's monologue here was really well written. -Well that end is crazy. THE BAD: -So far this is a fun event, and one of the best in years, but I just don't think it's anything too special that I'll remember a couple weeks later. More of a personal problem than anything else though.

I'm getting sharply diminishing returns on Carnage's cute little "blood for the blood god" speeches.
