Mar 18, 2026This issue gives you more character development for Prince Salaka, which is fantastic to see. Battle Beast himself has not changed at all, and I am hoping that he continues to stay the same! Although this issue does not have the same amount of action as previous issues, it is still needed to help the storytelling. Readers need to see the main character get knocked down, and how he responds to that. Read Full Review

Lyles Movie Files - Jeffrey Lyles
Mar 18, 2026Battle Beast wastes little time asserting its claim as one of the top 2026 titles to read. Fans of hardcore action and brilliant characterization should thrill to the insane spectacle as it’s back in the must-read monthly rotation. Read Full Review

Mar 18, 2026Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7 picks up the story where the last issue left off seamlessly. Starting this new arc by getting the details of what happened between the arcs out of the way will only help the pace of the story going forward. Even though this is a bridge issue, it still brings a lot of fun, well setting up where we will be going in this new arc. If you were looking for a good jump on issue for this series, this is one that you should pick up at the LCS this week. Read Full Review

Mar 20, 2026What ultimately makes this issue land is how confident it is in slowing things down. By prioritizing character over spectacle, the team give this world room to breathe, allowing its emotional core to come into sharper focus before the inevitable chaos to come. This book is all about change, in about finding something to fight for beyond what we’ve been programmed to. If this is the foundation for the back half of Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, then the series isn’t just gearing up for bigger fights, it’s building toward something far more meaningful with its resolution.Battle Beast #7 is an excellent return to the series, showcasing where the first arc left our heroes as they move into the second half of this series changed for the better. Mar 16, 2026A new story arc opens with this issue, meaning most of the chapter is setting up things to come. Unfortunately, it’s all setup and no action. Battle Beast himself barely appears, leaving readers to focus on some of the less interesting characters. Read Full Review

Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez
Mar 18, 2026Invincible Universe: Battle Beast #7 delivers Ryan Ottley’s kinetic splashes and Salaka’s witty banter, elements that pace the character moments well and deliver a fresh take on warrior doubt, complete with those visceral spell clashes that ground Battle Beast’s goal-driven journey against the devouring obstacles he faces. Some room for improvement shows up in Battle Beast’s brooding minimalism and that draft-note snag on the final page, both of which slightly reduce clarity around his motivations and overall polish in a way that tempers the entertainment value. If Invincible’s savage heart draws you in, this issue deserves a place in your pulls, as it blends humor, stakes, and solid art synergy into something worthwhile for fans considering the larger quest. You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
Mar 17, 2026There's quite a bit of potential in and around the edges of the weirdness of the series. And really if Kirkman and Company were to spend a little bit more time focusing on the weirdness, it would be a lot more appealing. As it is, the more traditional space fantasy element of it it just doesn't hold together all that well. It feels like it's an echo of a shadow of 1 million things that I've made the comics page countless times before over the past few decades..There’s something good in Battle Beast...but it’s not all that clear quite precisely what it is... Battle Beast is back after a hiatus, and man did I miss this book. We get a slow down this issue while all our cast of characters heal up, and (imagine this Spiderman death spiral) we get character development plus plot progression!! A top book continues to be awesome despite the mellow tone of this book. The art is fantastic and detailed. Welcome back, Battle Beast!!

The usual fun schlock, but the story of Prince Salaka and his medieval-ish people is starting to bore me. I want more space action.
