The first nine issues of the series have been a movement west. Wilson seems to be teasing a similarly extended road trip east in the chapters to come. The restless road trip format has worked quite well. All of the many little episodes that fit into a cross-country drive make for a remarkably fun format that has likely never been attempted in an extended mainstream series before. The darkness of the anti-heros journey out should be mirrored by the relative levity of a potential heros journey back over the course of the NEXT nine issues if all goes well. Read Full Review

Poison Ivy #9 is a nice break for Poison Ivy as Harley Quinn enters the story for a little rest and relaxation. It's a good issue in particular, as it makes a statement about their relationship, how they work, and how they truly are perfect for each other. This is the first issue that gave fans any real hope that it would end with Ivy going back to being an antihero, and that in and of itself makes it a win in my eyes. Poison Ivy deserves a break and I'm glad Wilson's given her a mini vacation. I loved seeing my girls back together and really hope the nice wholesome, heart warming plot keeps going. I believe what we have here is another Harley and Ivy "hallmark issue. However, I'm seeing the same problems with the relationship that I always have seen. DC writers do their best to make it as ideal as possible, but an idealized relationship isn't actually a believable or relatable one. Read Full Review

I have been expecting this issue since it was announced in the solicitations, had very high expectations, and it did NOT disappoint! G Willow Wilson clearly knows these characters very well, and has a lot of love for them and their relationship. Marcia Tamara’s art is breathtaking, and does a fantastic work in visualizing the clear love these two characters share. This is probably the issue I’ll find myself keep going back to. Best Harley & Ivy issue by far!

What an amazing issue. I absolutely love the dynamic between Harley and Ivy. The characterization in particular is great, particularly with Ivy. I really liked how her use of the laima spores almost represented someone pushing people away due to multiple possible problems, such as depression (That's how I saw it at least; symbolism is subjective and everyone is welcome to their own interpretations!). I am glad Ivy isn't gonna just pop back up in Gotham right away, but I'm still excited to see her make her way back eventually. This is, in my personal opinion, one of the best issues of this run, if not THE best.

I loved this issue. A beautiful complicated relationship captured in amazing art and writing. Marked down 0.5 because it’s really confusing how these spores work, but I can mostly forgive that.

A very pleasant surprise. I never understood why Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are together, as it didnt make sense to me. But this issue really showed me why. It's just a filler issue, but it fleshes out and develops the two characters. The story was nice and touching, and I like how Harley Quinn tells Poison Ivy why she shouldn't be afraid of herself, and to stop punishing herself.

This was my least favorite issue so far of what has been a stellar poison ivy run. However that's not to say it wasn't still good. I find Harley and ivy's relationship to be so heartwarming and really got a kick out of Harley enjoying some spores out on the town

This kind of loved up issue drives me nuts as it serves no purpose in the overall story of Pam. The way Pam got Harley to trip was it's saving grace as it shows the power of the mind needed to actually understand the Green. I have said this countless times and I will say it once more " please stop fleecing people out of hard earned money with sweet filler stories that would have worked wonderfully well in an 80 page issue with 4 or 5 of these great stories

I'm not sure what the point of this issue was. Harley shows up, they have sex, go around town on a date and then Harley leaves. She tells her to come how when she's done. I'm not sure I buy this as Harley. Harley would have definitely stayed with her for a while and caused some mayhem and then declared she was bored, but it never got to that point. Kind of a waste of a good character.

This issue could be easily contained in two pages. Nice slice of life moment stretched too thin that feels like parody.
