But Why Tho? - Charles Hartford

    Sep 04, 2019

I enjoyed Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1. I greatly appreciated the themesthat have been explored in this book so far and eagerly find myself looking forward to where they will lead when the conclusion releases. If you are feeling up for something a bit different than the standard superhero adventure, I'd highly recommend Legion of Suoer-Heroes: Millennium #1. Read Full Review

I may not be a legion fan but I know a good comic when I read one and this issue falls firmly in that category. If this is a taste of what is on the horizon I think we all might be reading a lot more Legion of Super-Heroes in the future. Read Full Review

The Fandom Post - Chris Beveridge

Bendis keeps things moving well, touches on two familiar and one unfamiliar area, and delivers a great Supergirl that I want to know everything about. Rose is nicely established here and all the right hooks are in place. And what a great art team to dig into with each period getting treated strongly. My hopes continue to rise. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Jason A. Fleece

    Sep 04, 2019

Bendis fails to give the four vignettes any type of through-line, and neither Rose nor Thorn seems to change much as the book lurches forward. It seems like the only reason for this books existence is to give Bendis a chance to briefly visit all of DCs various futures before landing in the world of the Legion when its title debuts in November, but theres really not much substance here. So far, at least, this series seems superfluous and unnecessary.  Read Full Review

I get what Bendis is trying to do and that's having everything lead up to us meeting the Legion. And it's not terrible, just very obvious. And honestly, I like the simplicity but maybe it's a little TOO simple. The artwork by all is very decent but it feels very familiar. Let see where it goes from here but this series start off with some amazing art and a very obvious story. Read Full Review

Legion of Superheroes: Millennium #1 is a book with great artists that unfortunately doesn't deliver what it needs to. The character of Rose/Thorn serves as a fairly strong focal point of a story that is devoid of much excitement. It's fun, and it's not unworthy of your time. However, if you're a fan of the Legion then you're probably looking for Legion of Superheroes #1 instead of this. Read Full Review

DC Comics News - Matthew Lloyd

    Sep 04, 2019

Overall, Millennium is not bad, but it isn't great either. The strength of some of the ideas and the focus on Rose's character are engaging, but the lack of narrative leave this reader wanting. A strong plot would've elevated this issue. Moreover, it would've seemed that Rose, having lived through all these disparate futures would've been able to make some sense out of them for the reader, giving them context and meaning. Still, Bendis didnt make much use out of the extra page count with redundant dialogue and a feeling like treading water in the first issue. Thats not a good sign. You could probably skip this issue without feeling lost in subsequent chapters as this was a underdeveloped debut for Rose re-debut. Read Full Review

    Comic Watch - Matt Meyer

    Sep 04, 2019

Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1 promises big and fails to deliver on almost every level. A complete and utter letdown both for fans of the Legion and Brian Michael Bendis, this comic doesn't even feature the eponymous team from the title. The story is choppy and disconnected and the protagonist isn't strong enough to carry the weight of this tale. The art, at least, is good - even if each artist doesn't complement the others very well. And the highly-touted streamlining of the future history of the DCU turns out to just be a lot of fan service. Just one issue in, and the Bendis era of Legion is in a lot of trouble. Half-baked and armed with a weak narrative hook, Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium #1 is a high-profile dud. One that was surely bound to happen now that Bendis is starting to branch out beyond his little corner of Metropolis. I just wish it didn't have to happen at the Legion's expense. Read Full Review

    SciFiPulse - Patrick Hayes

    Sep 07, 2019

The story is pointless and makes this book a cash grab for fans wishing to finally journey to DC's future. I was thinking this would be about the Legion, given as how that name is at the top of this book. Nope. Didn't happen. There are seven pages after the tale that show the characters and give some of the creators' opinions on the new direction of the series. This is a lazy way to promote this reboot. The information on these pages should have been revealed in a story, such as this comic that featured the Legion's name at its top. Skip this book. Don't waste your time or money. Pointless and sad.
